Jackie sat quietly in her husbands office, concerned by his sudden change in mood. She searched for an answer in his twisted face.
'Where do you go when you go quiet?' She thought to herself.
Tears fell from her husbands eyes.
"Jackie," he sniffed and caught the glance of his wife.
She watched this man, whom she loved, act in a way she'd never seen before. His eyes red with tears, his face tired.
"I have try so hard to be true, to you." He confessed.
"Jack, you are scaring me."
The room was silent.
"I was tempted."
Jackie swallowed, "And?"
Her mind raced. How many times had she been here before?
"Nothing." Jack told her, his voice cracked as if he was unsure.
She wasn't sure if she could be relieved yet. "Nothing?"
Jack just nodded.
"Then why are you crying?"
Jack took a deep breath, "You probably think lowly of me now."
Jackie tilted her head and concealed a laugh, "No I thinks it's...sweet."
Jack smiled, "I almost did something that's why I am...upset, I could have easily thrown every thing we've been working on these past few months away."
"But you didn't." Jackie reminded her husband.
It had been a long time since Jack had bothered enough by something like this to tell his wife. Of course Jackie wasn't happy about the situation, but she glad that she could finally start to see progress within her relationship.
