I never knew.

I never knew you'd kill my flowers,

neglect them until there was nothing left.

I never knew that was your thing,

nor that you cared.

I never knew you'd leave me empty,

you'd trash me and leave me to no care.

You struck me as an angel,

The gardener I'd been searching around to no end.

I never knew I'd be heartbroken,

lifeless, like a skeleton without its head.

I knew you weren't my one and only,

but that doesn't mean I didn't care.

I never knew.

I wish I knew.
