I had the strangest dream last night
And fell out of my bed.
I dreamed a hippopotamus
Had a helmet on his head.
I dreamed a herd of zebras
Were running from a lion.
The lion wore a pink tutu
The zebras dressed Hawaiian.
A stampede of angry elephants
Were stomping in a stream.
All were dressed in uniform
Like my favourite soccer team.
The crocodiles, how they laughed
As they stretched out in the sun.
They were sipping Shirley Temples.
They were having too much fun.
Gazelles, giraffes and cheetahs
Flew on butterfly wings.
I never knew that Africa
Had so many crazy things.
But when I fell, I bumped my head.
I woke up with a fright.
Never had my dreams before
Made for such an active night.
