The Secret

Maddy's Point of View 

I woke up this morning and saw that Brookelynne left her phone in my room last night. What do I take this chance to do? To text the boy from dinner last night. What will I text him you ask? Oh I am going to tell him to meet me in the park. There is just one problem: I kinda sorta don't know the boy's name. How am I going to solve that problem? Oh you'll see.

I took Brookelynne's phone off of my night table and unlocked it. That's right, I've entered my thumbprint into her phone, best idea I have ever had in my life. As I unlocked her phone, I checked her recent messages. The first contact that popped up was: Ethan 😍. Umm... Obviously that is not him, kidding! The last message that she sent to him was: 'I loved having dinner with you last night. We should do it again sometime. Also, maybe without our parents 😏. ~B 💘

If I could just say one thing, it would be yuck! I just hate all of the lovey dovey stuff! Now all that I have left to do is send this message to the boy.

Brookelynne's Point of View 

When I woke up this morning, I realized that my phone was not on my night stand. I walked over to Maddy's room to ask her if she knew where it was. "Hey Mads, do y- what are you doing with my phone?" "Um, nothing?" She said as almost a question, so I immediately knew that she was lying. (She always does that when she is lying.) "Give it back!" I said as she handed it over. 

I inspected my phone thoroughly and nothing that I saw had been messed with. "I told you that I was just playing a game." "Okay, okay, I believe you." "What should you say?" "Fine," I said with a sigh, "I am sorry that I didn't believe you and accused you of snooping through my phone. There. Happy now?" "Yes, very." 

Ethan's Point of View

I was awaken by a text from Brooke asking me to meet her at the park in ten minutes to tell me something important. There was absolutely no way that I was ever going to turn that offer down. I got out of bed to get ready. As I was on my way to the bathroom, I ran into Grayson, "Where are you going this early?" "To the park to meet Brooke, cover for me?" "You know it!" "Thanks, bro!" "Anytime, man!" 

Grayson knows how much that I like Brookelynne and he wouldn't to anything to prevent me from meeting her because he is my best friend. When I got to the park, I was surprised to not see Brooke, but her sister, Maddy. 

Maddy's Point of View

"Maddy!? What are you doing here!?" He asked surprised. "I need to tell you something that I don't think Brookelynne will ever build up the confidence to ever tell you." "Then why are you telling me?" "Because I believe that it should be told." "Okay then, if it is that important, then you can tell me." "Okay, Brookelynne likes you." As soon as I said that, his face lit up with excitement.

"Really!? This is not a prank, right?" I shook my head, "No, not a prank, just an innocent girl telling her friend something that he should know." "Wow, thanks Mads, but what should I do now?" "What do you mean what should you do now?" "Like I don't kno-" "Do you like her back?" I asked cutting him off. "Well, yes of course I do." "Then ask her on a date, silly."

"Do you think that she would say yes?" "Of course I do." "Well, what makes you think that?" "Trust me, I know Brookelynne better than anyone else in the whole entire world and if I think that she would say yes, she will definitely say yes." "Okay, thanks for all of this, Mads." "Anytime, Eth." I said with a smile as I walked away.

And with that, my work here is done. My work as the love doctor that is, trust me, the love doctor never fails, ever.

Brookelynne's Point of View 

I was thinking about what I should make for dinner when I was interrupted by a text from Ethan that said I should meet him out the park, so he could ask me something. Well, I have absolutely no idea what that might be, but I would never pass up an opportunity to see Ethan's beautiful face. (Did that just enter my thoughts? Who have I become?) (Author's Note: that last part was obviously a joke. If we are all being honest with each other here, that kind of thing enters my mind all of the time. 💘😍) 

My house is walking distance from the park, so I just decided that I was going to walk there. First, I put on a little bit of mascara and threw my hair up in a messy bun, so that I could look at leas halfway presentable. When I got to the park, I saw a figure sitting in the park bench that I could tell was Ethan, so I walked up to him.

"Hey, Ethan! What's up?" I asked him with a huge smile spread across my face. Just the thought of him makes me all sorts of happy. "Oh, nothing. I just needed to ask you something, that's all." "Okay then, ask away." "Well, Brookelynne, I don't really know how to put this, so I guess that I will just go for it. Brookelynne, you were the first friend that Grayson and myself made here. Also, since the moment that I first saw you, I knew that you were the most beautiful girl that I would ever see in my whole entire life. Well, I guess what I am trying to say is, Brookelynne, will you go out with me?"

"Awe, that was the most beautiful thing that I have ever heard in my life, Ethan! Of course I will go out with you!" "Really? You will?" "Yes, honestly, I have felt the same way, but I was just too shy to tell you how I really feel." "That's okay, so was I, but there was someone in my life who told me to ask you out because they were sure that you would say yes. Look at us now. Where would I be without that person?" 

"I don't know, probably at home, in your room, moping around because you didn't build up the courage to ask me out on a date." She said and we both burst out laughing. "Yeah, your probably right. How did you know?" "Because that's exactly what I would be doing too." I said and we both smiled. This boy might just be the best thing that has ever happened to me.
