With You

Chapter 9

When the bell rang I gathered my stuff and headed out.

It was lunch time and as promised I had to meet Cole. I waited outside my class and two minutes later, I saw Cole walking towards me.

I had already told Katie about my lunch plans with Cole and she seemed pretty ok with it. She has been talking to this guy which she really likes and so wanted to be alone with him which eventually worked for both of us.

"Ready?" I nodded.

I thought we were going to have lunch with his friends, but it looked like Cole had other plans. Instead of having lunch in the cafeteria, we decided to have lunch outside. I have always had lunch in school, this was my first time and that to with Cole.

We drove to a nearby McDonald's. We ordered our meals and took our seats at a table near the window. For a few minutes neither of us spoke and then Cole suggested that we should play the question game.

"Ok rules, we will ask one question at a time. If you don't want to answer you can pass but the other gets a bonus question." I nodded and ate silently.

"I'll start." Cole said taking a sip from his Coke.

"Why are you so shy? I mean you don't talk to many people except Katie and most of the time you are by yourself."

I must say I was a little stunned. I did not expect his first question to hit me like this.

Cole had noticed that I don't talk to many people and like being with myself and at times with Katie. I did not expect him to be so vigilant.

"I am not shy it's just that I like to be with myself at times. And I have friends other than Katie." His expression clearly said that he did not buy it because I actually had no friends other than Katie.

"Have you had any past relationships?"

I thought that I took a big leap but he didn't mind it so I continued.

"I am sorry if that bothers you but it just came to my mind." I asked looking down not wanting to make an eye contact.

"It doesn't bother me and no I do not have any past relationship. I never wanted to be in one." He answered calmly while giving me a smile. (A/N: *squeals*)

I was actually starting to like this. I liked spending time with Cole. I would not be able to trust him completely, but he was not bad at heart. I snapped back to my senses when he asked his next question.

"Do you like spending time with me?"

Pretty ironic, if you ask me. It was almost like he could read my mind.

"I actually do like spending time with you." I smiled at him and continued to eat.

"Do you like spending time with me?" He pursed his lips at this one. I think he was upset because i asked the same question but I was going to ask this anyway.

"I love spending time with you because I feel comfortable while taking to you. I know I can tell you my problems and you won't judge me. That's why."

His answer really surprised me. I did not expect Cole to be so frank with me. And to an extent he was correct, if he ever comes to me with his problems I would find a way to solve them.

I could not help but smile widely at him and he understood it. I liked the way he was today. A different Cole. And that is why I was enjoying myself. We did not know much of each other but still he felt comfortable around me and to be honest I liked it.

We finished our food and headed back to school. I was happy for today and was looking forward on having lunch with Cole again.

The bell rang indicating the school was over and everyone was heading out. Cole had offered me a ride so he was waiting for me in the parking area. Before going out I wanted to go the ladies so I texted Cole that I'll be out in a minute.

I was washing my hands when I was suddenly pulled by my hair and somebody slapped me hard on my face. I stumbled but caught my stance quickly. I looked up to see Hanna and her minions standing and laughing like they were enjoying seeing me like this.

Hanna came forward and pushed me so hard that my head hit the faucet and I could hear Hanna faintly say "this is for punching me" because after than I passed out.
