The Ex

Chapter 20

Everyone was at the hospital waiting to see how Beth would turn out. That's when he showed up. A man walked up to Joel & started yelling at him. Joel asked who he was & he replied saying that he was Beth's ex. Joel then realized that he was the one who beat up Beth. Joel got very angry & immediately started yelling at him to get out & that he would be pressing charges for what he did to Beth. Finally the man left. Joel went in to check on Beth now that she was finally awake. She was doing really good now. Besides a black eye & a few scrapes she was completely fine. Eventually Moriah made her way down to the hospital. She came in the room & immediately went over to Beth & asked how she was feeling. Beth said she was feeling alright. Then Moriah leaned down & gave her a huge hug. Joel asked Moriah if he could speak with her out in the hallway.

Joel: "That man that hit Beth was her ex."

Moriah: "What?? How do you know?!"

Joel: "He came here a little while ago."

Moriah: "Oh my gosh that's awful!"

Joel: "Yes, well I have decided to press charges on him. Also, I will be increasing security on all of us. I can't let this happen again...to any of us."

Moriah noticed that although Joel was worried about Beth, he seemed really worried that this would happen to her as well. She noticed how close he was standing to her & the look in his eyes everytime he looked at her. She didn't say anything or acknowledge it though. She knew Joel & Beth were engaged & she didn't want to ruin things between them two.

Moriah: "Yes, I agree that is a good idea!"
