"Hey, Mrs. J,"
I smiled weakly.
"How are you today?"
She gave me a sad
smile and let me into
her house.
"I'm... doing well,
how about you, honey...?"
"Still... shocked,
I guess."
She nodded in understanding.
Cody came towards me,
he didn't seem all too
happy to see me
like he always is.
"Cody is depressed,"
she said.
I knelt on the floor,
and rubbed his neck
and belly.
"You miss him too, buddy...?"
He whimpered
quietly in return.
