LUCIA P.O.V.

As usual, I'm bored on a Saturday night. Usually I would be at least sleep. But I have enough energy to run a marathon.

Brittany has been distant since Gram died. She's been coming home late at night. Sometimes she will be drunk or high. Maybe both. She was turning into another me. Matter of fact, she just left about two hours ago saying she was going to hang out with Honesty at her house.

I haven't seen Honesty in a while so I decided to give her a call. About the second ring she picked up.

"Hey girl." I heard Honesty say.

"Hey." I said.

"So what are you doing?" She asked.

"Nothing being bored as usual. What you been doing?"

"Chilling with Sebastian. How's Brittany and Carlos?" She asked.

"Isnt Brittany with you?" I asked while popping me a bag of popcorn.

"No why?"

"She left about two hours ago saying she was going to your house." I said.

"She's not here. But I think Sebastian said he seen her at Josh's house. He's throwing another party." She said. Knowing that she's gonna be a mess, I decided to go and get her from the party.

"I'm going to get her. Whose supposed to be at this party?" I asked.

"You better hurry. Sebastian said that the boys that were there were doing cocaine and ecstasy pills shit like that." She said. I hurried up and grabbed my keys and left.

"What's the address?" I said.

"437 Mulberry Street." She said. I stepped on the gas pedal and sped down to Mulberry Street to get my cousin.

When I got there, let's just say that I was under dressed. I wore baller shorts and a tank top and these people wore dresses to their ass and pants that sagged to their knees.

I moved my way through the crowd and seen Brittany in a room that had purple lighting. She was sniffing cocaine and I was getting angry.

I decided to blend in. So I went over to a guy and began to randomly dance with him. I just wanted to listen in on their conversation.

"Hey little lady? What's your name?" He asked. She giggled

"My name is Brittany." She said.

"My name is Gerald." The dark skinned boy said.

"Nice to meet you." She said.

"So how about we make a deal?" He said. She nodded. I turned my body towards the guy and danced really closed to him do it made it look like I wasn't spying.

"For a bag of cocaine, you give me some head." He said. He took out the cocaine and flashed it to him. Her eyes grew hungry as my eyes went wide.

"Deal." She said. She went to reach for the bag when he took it out of her reach.

"Ah. Ah. Ah. I need my head first. Then you can get you cocaine. Ok?" He said. She nodded and he drugged her out of the room. I moved away from the guy only to notice that he was half way asleep standing up.

I shook my head and tried to figure out where they could have ran off to. I checked the bathroom, the rooms, everything. No sign of the frat boy or Brittany.

So I decided to go out back for some air. That's when I heard male grunts coming from the dark side of the house. I followed the grunts and as the became louder and louder, the place became darker and darker.

Then some college frat boy decided to drop his pants in front of her and demanded she give him some head.

She instantly went for it. I rushed toward him and pushed Brittany back. The frat boy looked at me like I was a wild woman.

"What the fuck girl?" He said. I punched him in the nose.

"HOW DARE YOU EVER GIVE A SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD DRUGS?" I yelled kicking him in the stomach. Brittany was yelling, begging me to stop. I looked at her and saw the fear in her eyes.

"If I ever see you around and I mean anywhere, I won't hesitate to fucking beat your skull in. Don't let me see you give another person a drug under the age of eighteen." I say to Gerald and began to pull Brittany away from the house and to my car.

Believe it or not she let me without the struggle. The car ride to the house was silent and she knew I was gonna tell her something about her self when we get there.

When we pulled up in the parking lot, she got out the car and slammed the door. I did the same and walked inside behind her.

"What were you thinking?" I asked. She sat on the couch.

"What were you doing at the party?" She asked dodging my question .

"I came there to get you. But you were to busy giving head and sniffing cocaine to see that I was there." I sated.

"I can do what I want. I'm grown." She said while standing up. I came to her and looked her in her face.

"What are you trying to prove to yourself by sniffing cocaine and giving head for it?" I asked.

"I'm trying to prove that I could change." She said.

"Why would you wanna change?" I asked.

"BECAUSE I HAVE NO ADULT HERE TO HELP ME! THE THREE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN MY LIFE ARE GONE." She yelled at me.

"SO WHAT IS SNIFFING COCAINE GONNA DO HUH?! MAKE YOU FORGET?! BECAUSE ITS JUST ANOTHER BURDEN YOULL CARRY AROUND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE." I yelled back.

"IT HELPS ME FORGET. IT HELPS ME FORGET MY PARENTS, MY CHEATING BOYFRIEND AND MY COUSIN WHO I TRY SP HARD TO BE LIKE BUT CANT!"She screamed.

Wait what? She wanted to be like me? But why?

"Why do wanna be Like Me?" I asked. She sighed.

"You have parents. You have friends and you have a boyfriend. Whereas I have no parents, no friends excluding you and Honesty and I can't tell whether my boyfriend is lying to me or cheating on me." She said as she busted into tears. She walks against the couch and began to sob loudly.

"Ok. Its ok." I asked when I came to soothe her. She shook her head.

She did this because she wanted to be like me. I've never did this stuff before. Yeah I've smoked weed and drunk a couple drinks but never did this.

" No it's not. Gram was buried some months ago and everytime my urge for being like you grow."

"What you did is something I wouldn't have done in a million year. And you can't be like me. If everyone got it that way, to be like me or you, then we would have a boring ass life." I said she smiled

"Thank you for saying that to me. But I miss her so much." She said. Her smile faltered and it was replaced by a frown. I hated to see her like this.

"I miss her too. But it was too late we couldn't have done nothing." I said.

"Yes. We could've did something to help. Made sure a doctor checked on her every ten minutes." She said stating obvious ideas on how we could've saved Grandma.

"Ok stop. We could've did Anything. But we couldnt-"

"We also was there and fell asleep."

"Let's just get off this topic. We've been through alot tonight. So just go to your room and well talk about if in the morning. " I said leaving here there in the middle of the sitting room.

After a good hour or so I heard her room door open and closed.

My family was officially falling apart. My mom and dad was workaholics and could never spare a minute to their alive daughter, a cousin who does cocaine, and a girl who feels like she already has to take care of children.
