Bey's POV
The bell rang. I gathered my things and walked out of class.

As I walked down the hall, Jay approached me.

"Hey Bey," he greeted me.

"Hey Jay," I smiled.

"I gotta ask you a question," he said as we walked down the hallway.

"Okay, what is it?," I asked.

"If I took you out on a romantic surprise dinner at your favorite restaurant, would you like it and be all happy and stuff?," he asked.

"I'm sure I would be if I new what a restaurant was," I told him.

"Oh yeah, I forgot that you're a mermaid," he told me.

"Why'd you ask me that anyway?," I questioned.

"Because I'm taking Simone to her favorite restaurant for dinner tonight. It's our two year anniversary, and I want to make it special for her. I just want to show her that I really love her even though we have our rough patches," he said.

"That's really sweet. You're a really great boyfriend," I told him.

"And I got her a necklace that says S+J with heart around it," he said.

"That's so cute," I smiled.

"Do you think she's gonna like it because I saved up for months for the dinner and the necklace? I wanted to work hard for it to show her how much I care instead of just using my parents' money," he asked.

"She's gonna like the surprise dinner and the necklace," I assured him.

"Are you sure?," he asked again.

"Yes. Even though I'm a mermaid, I would still love it if my boyfriend got me presents and surprised me. I'm still a girl, you know? I know what girls like," I told him.

"Okay. Thanks Beyoncé," he told me.

"You're welcome," I said as he walked away.

I approached my locker where Kelly was waiting on me.

"Hey Kelly," I greeted her opening my locker.

"Hey Bey. What were you and Jay talking about?," she asked.

"Him and Simone," I answered.

"What about them?," she asked.

"Today's their two year anniversary, and he's surprising her with her a romantic dinner at her favorite restaurant and giving her a necklace," I told her.

"He shouldn't do anything for her. He should just break up with her," Kelly said.

"Why? They seem like such a cute couple," I said.

"Jay's a great boyfriend. Simone is a horrible girlfriend. Jay's family is rich, and Simone just uses him to get nice things. She's really rude to him and curses him out. She's cheating on him with other guys," Kelly said.

"Well, if she's doing all that, why is Jay still with her?," I asked her.

"He doesn't know. And he really does love her. He's oblivious. When we try to tell him what she's doing, he doesn't believe us," she told me.

"That's horrible," I said closing my locker.

We started walking down the hallway.

"I know, but if Jay won't listen, we can't help him," Kelly said.

"But Jay's a great guy. He doesn't deserve to be treated like that," I told her.

"Look," she told me.
