One Step Away || Dan x Reader

[|Chapter 3 - New Friends|]

Three of you arrived at your flat when you heard Y/F shouting from the kitchen:

"GODDAMNIT Y/N! ATE ALL OF MY CHEERIOS AGAIN FOR GOD'S SAKE!"

When she heard footsteps, she rushed to the hallway and her jaw dropped.

"Y/F, meet Dan and Phil, Dan and Phil meet Y/F, my best friend and flatmate."

She awkwardly stood there with a sheepish smile, waving at them.

"H-Hi. I didn't expect guests. Y/N m-may I talk to you for a bit?"

"Yeah sure." - you answered.

"You guys can just go sit on the sofa in the living room." - you told them, pointing at a doorway.

Y/F then dragged you into her room and closed the door as quietly as she could before screaming:

"OH MY GOD! DANISNOTONFIRE AND AMAZINGPHIL ARE IN OUR FLAT!" 

You quickly covered her mouth so that she would stop yelling. 

"Yes, I know, shhh! It's better if you play it cool, okay? I know that they are your senpais, as well as mine, but play it cool. I bumped into them in the park, well, I bumped into a tree... Nevertheless, they wanted to film some vids for all of our channels. But remember, play it cool, alright?" 

Y/F nodded slowly and silently in agreement. You took your hand off of Y/F's mouth and went to see how Dan and Phil were doing and what were their plans for the videos.

A/N - To make the whole dialect easier, let's do this: D - Dan, P - Phil, F - Y/F, N - Y/N. 

N -"[Your intro on your YouTube channel]! Today we are going to play Charades! How original, I know."

F - "Wow, Y/N. You're really struggling with new ideas, eh?"

N - "Oh gimme a break! I'm joined by Y/F, by the way."

F - "Hai!"

N - "Today, we have special guests..."

F - "Wait, so I'm not a 'special guest'?"

N - "No sorry, I think that you're not special at all. Quite useless, I would say."

F - "HEY!"

N - "However, I am joined by two of my YouTube senpais, Dan and Phil!"

D - "Hello!"

P - "Hiiii!"

N - "Now, we decided that the teams will be Phil and Y/F, and Dan and I. All of you guys should know how to play Charades if not, whatthehelldidyouliveunderarockorsomethingohmygod. So the objective of the game is simple: one person from the team will have to act out whatever is written on these cards that I've bought the other day, and the other one has to guess what the hell is going on. You get a minute per round and that's basically it! LET'S DO THIS!"

During the round where Y/F had to act out a ballerina, (which was pretty easy if you ask me) she began to spin on one of her feet with her hands connected above her head. Right before Phil could make his guess, Y/F slipped and fell right on her bum with a loud crash. Everybody started laughing their heads off. The whole video was a mess, but you liked it. Your whole channel was a giant mess, though your subscribers seemed to like it and you never really understood why. 

After you finished filming, all of you exchanged numbers.

"This was TONNES of fun! We should totally film sometime in the future!" - Phil exclaimed.

"Yeah, I agree, but you know, I think that we should meet up like friends, you know? To get to know each other a bit more. When are you guys free?" - asked Dan.

"We don't have plans for this weekend, do we?" - you asked Y/F.

"Nope."

"Well then, it's settled! We'll send you the address of our flat sometime during the week. We'll see you guys on Saturday!" - Phil said with excitement in his voice.

"Alright! It's been a pleasure meeting you guys! Bye!" - you chirped cheerfully.

"Bai!"

After the boys had left, you checked the time on your phone.

It's 1 a.m. 

I can stay up late, I still have no work tomorrow. It's twitter and tumblr time!

You went to your laptop, opening twitter.

@[your twitter account]: i went to a park today and i bumped into a tree and lost @[Y/F twitter account] on the way

A few minutes later you had two replies, one from Y/F and one from Dan:

@[Y/F twitter account]: I told you I had to go home to edit! Not my fault you spaced out!

@danisnotonfire: i was a witness and it was as funny as me telling everyone that i will upload every week

That put a smile on your face. You then decided to reply to Dan:

@[your twitter account]: @danisnotonfire the funniest thing ever was when you couldn't guess that i was a bird when we were playing charades

That tweet blew up with reactions like 'omg wow danyul' or '*facepalm*' which made you feel a little proud 'cause you just embarrassed the Meme Lord himself. A few moments later, Dan DM'ed you saying:

I'm having revenge one day

No, you're not. You won't dare to :p

Heck yeah I will. You haven't seen the last of me, [your last name].

Well you haven't seen the last of me as well, Howell.

After sometime, you checked your phone and it was 3 a.m., so you decided to call it a night when you realised that Y/F was already snoring lightly on the sofa right next to you. You turned off the lights and stared into the ceiling. You were happy with where you were in life right now. 

*Dan POV*

I couldn't sleep. All I could think about were the videos that we filmed today. I wonder if there are going to be any new ships? What if I will be shipped with Y/N? I wouldn't mind, actually. She's very pretty. Stop it, Dan. You just met her in real life and you're already thinking of people shipping you two. Wow. Try to get some rest. The sooner you fall asleep, the sooner you will be able to text Y/N. Dan, stop.

Hai!

I'm sorry. Wow. It's been a while. 

I had some serious health issues. Currently I'm in a clinic (as I said in my previous announcement) and I get 6 injections into my neck per day. What makes it worse, I'm terrified of syringes. ;--;

Hope you guys will forgive me.
