Oh Waran, in my dreams, I see you,

You and the echo of your voice, slightly brushing through the waves,

Taking every breath of mine away

You, the hot and warm you, bright and fearless as the sun

Wavy beaches, tanned girls, campfires, coast, summer air lullaby

The city of dawn where tourists visit its starry sky

Swim and dive in freedom under the current of your moon’s dim lights;

Yet cold, passive, calm like the sea that shelters you

Dim, bright, shiny lights emitted from buildings, apartments and skyscrapers,

Diligent movement of rushing cars and surfers,

Crowded people, travelers on streets, malls, shops and new products.

Sydney, the exotic sound of guitar, flute, ukulele, and the beat of drums,

The desert, home of lezards, kangoroos and koalas,

Where history and colonisation happened ;
