DIEGO HERNANDEZ HATED many things —but being the new guy -a quarter into the school year- was definitely on the top of his list.

Diego knew from personal experiences that being the newbie was one of the worst things. But it was nothing he wasn't used to of course. It's complicated, was the answer to any question about his schooling career.

Diego caught all the looks and names people were giving him. New loser. Emo loser. Loser newbie. They were uncreative but still very effective at giving him a sickening feeling.

Almost instantly as Diego entered the school he was greeted by a blonde. He remembered her from yesterday. He saw her, a curly black haired girl, and another looking at him weirdly. He saw the looks of disgust on the other two's faces as they looked at him.

"Diego Hernandez right?" She asks, her hair bouncing as she spoke.

Diego wondered how she knew his name, but nodded. She grins.

"I'm Ludmila Ferro, I am your tutor,"

Diego's frowned slightly. He was told he would be tutored to help him catch up, but he wasn't expecting her. Sure, he didn't know exactly what she thought of him but if she was with the other two that would make her like them –right?

"Oh," Diego says simply.

"Wanna meet in the library after school?" Ludmila asks and he nods.

Ludmila wondered why he was so quiet. It seemed odd to her. He was probably the quietest person in the grade, Ludmila would know, she was Queen Bee, so naturally she knew everybody.

"Cool. See you later!" Ludmila waves and he, once again, nods.

Diego let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding. People -girls specifically- made him anxious. He hated his shyness, but it was something he couldn't change.

Whenever somebody talked to him, words that were on the tip of his tongue wouldn't come out. His heart rate would speed up. His hands would feel all sweaty. He wouldn't be able to breathe properly.

He hated it.

The school day went exactly like yesterday. Diego walked through the halls alone and made his way to the library.

Diego hadn't stopped thinking about the blonde girl —Ludmila. She was a goddess. She was beautiful, and her voice was silky. Diego was confused that he had thought about her this way and he had just met her.

Ludmila was in the library, snogging a boy with dark brown hair. Diego instinctively blocked his eyes and cleared his throat. He swallowed hard, he should've known that somebody as beautiful as her, would have a boyfriend.

Ludmila gasps, and apologises countless times, pushing her boyfriend off her. Diego heard the boy groan in disappointment and he bites his lip. He hoped he hadn't angered the guy.

"I'm sorry," Diego whispers and the girl lets out a throaty chuckle.

"You have nothing to be sorry for. This is all on me," Ludmila protests. "Oh, you can remove your hand," She tells him, and he realises his hand was still covering his eyes.

He sheepishly removes them and sees Ludmila and the boy standing next to each other. Ludmila was beaming at him, the boy, however, was slightly glaring at him. It made Diego's legs feel wobbly.

"This is my boyfriend Federico," Ludmila introduces and Federico nods at him.

"Fede, leave," Ludmila instructs.

Federico rolls his eyes, and walks out the library, making sure he roughly pushed past Diego. Diego bit his lip and stared at the figure.

Oh shit, I've made my first enemy, Diego thought.

"I'm sorry about that. Anyway, let's start!" Ludmila says eagerly.

Diego couldn't help the thought that she might just want to get this time with him over and done with, flew in his mind. Diego nods and sits down.

Ludmila thought that was slowly making progress with Diego. Now he said two words before she only got one word out of him. But she couldn't deny that the constant nodding was getting on her nerves —she wanted to hear the guy speak!

From the three words she had heard him say, she could tell he had a smooth husky voice. It was enchanting, unlike Federico's voice which just made her cringe sometimes.

Her relationship with Federico -mostly fake- was complicated. She hated him, but on the other hand she couldn't help the slight attraction she had for him.

"What do you want to start with?" Ludmila questions.

"Anything," Diego shrugs.

Diego wanted to say more. But he couldn't. He sighed internally.

They spent a long time in the library. There was an orange glow on the school as Ludmila decided to call it a day.

But even after the hours, Diego hardly took anything in. For two reasons. One being that he couldn't keep his eyes off her. Ludmila was mesmerising and took up all his thoughts that he couldn't focus on what she was explaining so he simply nodded. Luckily that wasn't suspicious with him considering he hard,y ever spoke anyway.

And secondly, he knew all the work. Diego just wasn't really good at concentrating. Diego wasn't a dumb kid.

"So this was good. How about we do this every other day?" Ludmila suggests and he nods.

Diego notices her sigh lightly. Probably because of his lack of words.

"Thank you for doing this. It helped a lot," Diego smiles slightly.

He walks away, leaving her dumbfounded.

He just said  9 words all at once.
