The Beat

One, two, three, FOUR. One, two, three, FOUR. One, two, three, FOUR. One, two, three, FOUR. One, two, three, FOUR. Rhythm. Rhythm. Rhythm. That's what this is all about. The simplicity. How nothing else matters. All you need to focus on is the beat. One, two, three, FOUR. That's it for me.

That's all I'll ever need.

The feeling of getting on that dance floor. Swaying to the beat. Becoming one with the music as it consumes you. Then as soon as I think I can't go any longer, a new song comes on and I'm filled with a new energy. The sound at the club is like nothing I've ever felt before. The beat plays and I move. Moving my arms and legs, my entire body moving together, as one. One whole thing, moving and swaying, all to something so simple. An easy four count. One, two, three, FOUR. One, two, three, FOUR.

I reach out my arm and lightly touch the wall in front of me for balance. The whole club is spinning. I make me way to the bar and smile.

"Another shot Louie!"

"Sorry K. You're flagged."

"What? That's not right Louie!" I pout.

"Sorry Sweetheart." He smiles and I decide it's time to leave, I need a change of scenery anyway. Maybe a complete change of scenery.
