what i really want
to tell you is that
i refuse to love you

i will not allow
this heart to
pour out for you

i will not allow
this mind to
be consumed by you

i will not allow
you to break my heart
while you remain unscathed

because you
haven't done a damn thing
to earn it.

i will not allow myself
to love and love and love
and never receive.
