"I do love this dress", Mary told us.

"I fits you, dear", Alison approved, as Mary paid $US20.00 for it.

"John, are you married?".

"No, I am single. Andy, my ex, is too busy writing a novel, to be with me. We were together two years. But I want to be freed from the mundane".

"Mary and I met three years ago. She is an artist; I am a director".

"Movies".

"Yes, and we do attend the best parties. I do feel enlightened by them. The conservativeness is eating away at us; the conservativeness is destroying us".

"Well, let's break free".

And Alison and Mary became the first true Artist friends I'd met, as I travelled down the busy New York streets...And begun my journey of healing.
