Synopsis: Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

Review: I believe that most of us, if not all, have either read the book, watched the movie or simply heard of The Fault in Our Stars. Well, I have to admit, I only read the book because of the movie (I know, shame on me), but I was not the only one, right? Except that, I couldn't get the book on time and then my friends and I went to see the movie together, so I basically read the book after watching the movie and it was borrowed... But I read it!

After reading it, I completely understood why my friend kept screaming "That did not happen in the book!" But, in fact, there were not that many things that the movie was missing or that had not happened in the book. The story itself has a great meaning, but I don't believe that that is what attracted millions of people. I think that people (including me),  were blinded to see the true meaning behind the author's idea; we only saw Augustus and Hazel, teenagers with health problems falling in love. I don't know what was John Green idea from the beginning, but I suppose it was not only about teenagers falling in love and the resulting in a tremendous heartbreaking scene.  I assume that he wanted to show us how important it is to see the positive in the negative; to not see the death of tomorrow, but the life that is still left of today.

Heading back to the physical of the book, I love the original cover. Not that I don't like the one with Hazel and Augustus (because, I mean, they are so cute), but I really prefer the original one. Maybe it is the shiny blue color, or the font that they used on the title, but I simpy really like it. The font used is one of my favorites, in fact, or maybe it was the size because I felt that my eyes adjusted really well while I was reading. Overall, I loved the book, yet a lot of people say it is pretty overrated. I think though, that it is not exactly over-rated, but misunderstood.

Quotes: (These, I got from the internet and I chose the ones I liked the most, because there are too many quotes on the internet)

"My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations." -Augustus Waters

""I'm in love with you," he said quietly.

"Augustus," I said.

"I am," he said. He was staring at me, and I could see the corners of his eyes crinkling. "I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you.""
-Augustus to Hazel

"Some infinities are bigger than other infinities." -Hazel

"The marks humans leave are too often scars." -Peter Van Houten

"Some tourists think Amsterdam is a city of sin, but in truth it is a city of freedom. And in freedom, most people find sin." -John Green¿
