Drive It Outta Her

~~~~Ayato's POV~~~~

I hold Piper in my arms as more blood poured from her almost lifeless body. The blood smeared on her head and the blood dripping out of her hand then from her chest as well. Faith, Star, and Annaliese were all starting to cry, the worry that they had just lost their cousin.

"Laito..." Faith calls out.

She turns to Laito, burying her face into his shoulder, crying. Laito's eyes widen as he looks down at her, in absolute shock. He had never had to comfort a woman nor girl before and this was new to him. He gives Faith a small smile then he rubs her back in assurance.

"Will she really die?" Nova asks as she tries to hold back her tears.

"No." Ciara answers as she crosses her arms. "If Reiji and I can think of something to drive Cordelia out of her and save her life at the same time, she'll live." She mentions then her and Reiji leave the room.

"Have you ever seen this before, Sharvari?" Annaliese asks and Sharvari sighs.

"Not very much. Usually when this happens, the vampire that lives inside of them, takes over and the human part disappears. It is a very painful process." Sharvari explains then Aiden looks at her in shock.

"So you're saying that Piper is a vampire?" Aiden asks then we all look at Sharvari.

"Yes and no. When a human is born into a vampire family, when the human supposedly dies, the vampire awakens inside them and they live and become a vampire. But, just like your father, Aiden. She would turn into a Level E at some point." Sharvari explains.

"So, do we have to stop her from turning into a vampire?" Aiden asks and Sharvari scoffs.

"If you don't want her to turn into a Level E and have me hunt her down, then yeah. You'll probably want to." Sharvari answers, making Aiden slightly chuckles then looks at Piper again and sighs.

"If she really does die and not have any vampire in her, then she'll reunite with Ichiru again and she'll be happy once again." Aiden comments then I look at Subaru.

"Subaru," I call out then he looks at me, "can I pull this thing out of her now?" I ask him then he nods.

I look down at Piper then I wrap my hand around the knife.

"Wait." Subaru interrupts then I look at him as he crouches next to me. "I'll do it." He tells me.

I let go of the knife then Subaru wraps his hand around it. He rips the knife out of Piper's chest, a small whimper leaving Piper's mouth. Blood shoots out of her chest then I lift her up then walk down the stairs then Aiden walks up to me.

"Ayato, I'll carry Piper." He offers as he holds his arms out. "She's my sister, I have to take care of her." He tells me then I sigh.

"Fine." I agree.

I start to lay Piper in his arms, seeing the blood stains on mine, then his eyes widen. His eyes flash a bright red and he freezes with his jaw dropping.

"Are you going to be able to?" I ask him and he grunts.

"I'm not sure." He answers and I take Piper back.

"I'll save you the trouble." I tell him then he stays still.,

"Thank you, Ayato." He thanks.

We all leave the foyer and walk to the living room together. I walk over to the couch and lay Piper on the couch. Nova then walks over to Piper with a cloth, leaning over her cousin and wiping the blood off of her face. She takes out bandages and starts wrapping up Piper's hand then she sets it back down, walking away and standing by Aiden.
