"Tonight's the last night," Nikki said cheerfully as he approached me, appearing less pale than usual.
Two weeks had gone by since I had rifled through his things, searching for drugs, and either he had stopped using, or was using less. Sure, he was still rough around the edges, but he was Nikki Sixx; he had always been like that, and he made it work.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked after a moment, seemingly puzzled.
"Like what?"I asked innocently.
"Like you're... scrutinizing me," he said, narrowing his jade eyes slightly.
"You just look... good," I said happily. "You look healthier," I informed, brushing his hair away from his face. "Your cheeks have color, you aren't totally skeletal, and your beautiful green eyes seem even brighter." I stretched up onto my toes to kiss his forehead.
He smiled happily and put his arm around my shoulder.
"Tonight's the last night, baby. We need to make the most of it," he said with a wide smile.
"Mmm. Does that entail rough hotel sex or burning Fred's door off of the hinges?"
"Why not both?" he whispered in my ear before moving to kiss my neck.
"Later, Lover Boy," I promised, teasingly pulling away from him. "What time do we get to the venue?" I asked, feeling the bus go over another bump. "I hate this, I can't keep my balance."
He laughed at me grabbing him for balance.
"Soon, Sexy Sadie. Very soon. Then we'll be home in no time."
"Thank God! This isn't as fun after months and months."
"I know, baby. Thanks for sticking it out with us."
"Ew," Tommy said, appearing in the bunk hallway.
"Ew, yourself," I joked back.
As a (childish) response, he made weird kissy faces at us and grabbed his junk before sliding into his bunk, mumbling about missing Heather.
"What a weirdo," I mumbled with a laugh.
"I agree," Nikki said. "Anyway, we'll probably be there in about forty-five minutes. If you plan on napping, do it now," he advised before kissing my temple and walking to the front lounge.
I climbed into our bunk (which, luckily was the middle bunk rather than the top one like it had previously been) and laid down, thinking of the future and our return. We had to pick up our puppy, Whiskey (he probably wasn't much of a puppy anymore), probably clean the house, thank Karen for taking care of everything. It wasn't too much, but I knew that Nikki and I were dying to do nothing at all.

"Wakey, wakey," Nikki cooed in my ear as he gently shook my shoulder. "We're here; time to get ready."
"Why?" I asked groggily, sitting up (carefully so I wouldn't slam my head into the ceiling of the bunk).
He was now on the same level as me, as the bunk was around his waist level. Before if he had woken me up, I would only have seen his face 'floating' at the edge of the bed.
"There was an accident and traffic was bad; we're running late," he explained.
I focused my blurry eyes on him, and noticed that he looked very frazzled, but not just from the traffic.
"Nikki... did you get drugs from Fred?" I asked quietly, noting that his pupils were tiny.
"No," he said, turning to his suitcase.
