Getting dressed, Laurence was exhausted. In half a hour he would have to walk precisely six-hundred yards to his workplace. This was a daily task that Laurence didn't enjoy. Not one bit. His excruciating shift started at three and ends at eleven. Incase you didn't know, I mean three in the after-noon and eleven at night. Excruciating. So , routinely, he paced six-hundred yards down the streets of Los Angeles to the bar. He is not here to get pissed. He's a bartender. Also excruciating.
"Yo Laurence, how are you" said my Token black friend who NEVER would say Yo.
" Hey Marlin" I replied.
Then I ended the conversation by race walking away...excruciating.
