Paige's P.O.V
Time was moving incredibly slow today. It's the middle of the day and I haven't done anything. Dad didn't have work and Alec wasn't feeling his best. Dad prepared a snack for us while Alec and I watched TV."Today had to be the day when there's nothing good to watch," Alec complained. I snatched the remote from him to turn on Spongebob. He was right, TV did get boring really fast. All the new shows were nothing but full of drama and overall terrible.
But that didn't bother me as much as not talking to Zayn. We haven't talked in almost a week but the others has been talking and catching up with me lately. I asked them about him and they said that he's most likely at home having his alone time. It was off of him, he could've told someone but this is Zayn. He can be unpredictable at anytime. Still, hearing his voice would lighten my day, along with Louis, Harry and the whole gang.
"So," Alec smirked.
"What?" Dad placed a vegetable tray on the table and Alec dug in.
"How's your boyfriend? Which one is it again?"
I threw a couch pillow at his face and he burst in laughter. "He's not my boyfriend!"
"Louis?" Dad adds.
"No, she knows who I'm talking about," Alec continues, pinching my cheeks.
"He's talking about Zayn and no. We're just friends," I sassed. "And why do you care?"
"What? I can't ask a question?"
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever." There was no way Zayn and I would ever date. Well, I think. Although he says he doesn't hate me and really never did, we're just not a match. Yeah, he's nice, funny, cute...but that's not the point.
"Oh come on, Paige! You're in love with his ego and asshole attitude. You couldn't ignore him even if you tried," Alec went on.
"Speaking of, how's things been going? Are you all friends?" Dad wonders as he flips through the newspaper. Why Dad? Why? I thought.
"Yeah, we're cool. We've been hanging out a lot lately and it's been pretty fun. He's kind of not feeling well now, though," I guessed.
Alec snickered as he eat his carrot. "Maybe cause it's the butterflies you're giving him."
"Can you stop?!" I couldn't help but laugh it off. I took a pillow and buried my face in it.
"Just listen! I-"
Thank God Alec was interrupted by the doorbell. I threw the pillow at him and went after the door. I opened it and my smile turned to a dull look and back to a smile.
"Hey! Come-" Zayn pulled me in for a tight hug. It wasn't an average tight hug. He held me like his dear life was at steak, as if this was his last.
He backed away and finally came in, waving to Dad and Alec.
"Well look who's here. 'Sup dude?" Alec greeted while Dad gave Zayn a handshake.
Zayn smiled with pleasure. "Mr. Dobre, do you mind if Paige hang out tonight?"
"Of course, don't mind at all," Dad accepted.
I rushed upstairs and Zayn followed. "Where have you been? I talked to-"
"Yeah, they told me. I've been at home, I needed some alone time. Anyway, bring a swimsuit or whatever you need, I'll be in the car."
I quickly packed my backpack and zoomed downstairs.
"Bye Dad," I hugged him at the door, "Alec." Alec and I jokingly pushed each other.
"Listen, I know you don't care but don't forget what I told you. Pay attention, okay?"
