It was noticeable for a couple of days before it happened. Yet she decided to still go about her usual life; school, swim practice, and your activities with friends. There was even a date setup for the weekend. The illness was going around her team, it had hit everyone so far except her. But when it did, she thought it was from her allergies.
Everything started going downhill when her throat started hurting. She would constantly have to clear it and rub at it. Pretty soon her nose started to clog up and breathing was starting to get hard.
Finally, it was the day before the big date with someone whom she had been crushing on for some time now; and she felt /horrible/. Unfortunately she had to go to school (and all the other things she had to do). All day she avoided Wei Liu in order for him to not catch on she was sick; there was no way she would let the life changing date cancel.
Soon it was lunch time and her friends made themselves comfortable around her desk. As they all pulled out their lunches, the (H/C) haired girl's head landed with a thud on her notebooks. This was the moment she had been waiting for, the chance to take a power nap. But of course, she couldn't keep her guard down
"Ah! Wei-kun!" one of her best friends made sure to speak in an obvious manner to worn her, "What brings you here?"
The tall basketball player simply stared at the friend, judging her silently as she asked the silly question. "I'm here to see (F/N), but I see she is sleeping."
Her face shoved further into her arms as her rather ditzy friend started to reply, "Yeah, (F/N) hasn't been feeling well lately, and with all she has been doing she hasn't-- owe!" and of course, in order to get her to knock it off, she had to kick her as hard as she could muster.
"What (Friend's Name) is trying to say is that (F/N) is resting for your date tomorrow." thankfully your other friend had enough wit to try and cover for you.
"She's sick? Why wouldn't she tell me?"
"Wei don't worry about it, she's really just having allergy issues!" thank god for your friend's ability to lie quickly.
Later that day at swim, everyone was rather upset to see their captain so sickly. Despite giving it her all, she was barely able to keep up with even the slowest on the team. Getting out of the pool several times for a break and to take medicine, the coach finally decided to just send her home.
On the day of the date she felt even worse. Her fever had spiked even higher and her head felt all woozy and out of things. Before she gave up on the date, (F/N) managed to change into a more comfortable top.
After plopping back down into her bed, slim fingers glide over a desk in search of a phone. Somehow she managed to focus enough to find Liu's number and call. Three rings later an excited Liu answered.
"Moshi-moshi?" although it was obvious he knew it was her, he still tried playing it cool.
"Wei Liu-kun." her voice wheezed through the receiver, "I," pained coughs followed her first word, "I am too sick to go out today... gomen."
"Ah, really? That's too bad..." the disappointment in his voice was enough to break her heart.
"If it makes you feel better I was really trying to get better. I was moving, taking medicine and doing everything right." of course (F/N) had to take a break in order to blow her nose, "I promise next time I won't get sick." They stayed on the phone until the female simply couldn't stay up any longer. Before he knew it, he was hearing snores (because of her stuffy nose she claims today) through his cellular device.
About an hour or so later the female woke up. She hadn't opened her eyes yet but she felt something wet on her forehead. (F/N) was very confused as to what it could be. Pulling her arm away from her side, the beauty slowly traced her hand up to the top of her head where she felt a cloth. Moving to sit up, her (E/C) hues were finally visible.
"Ew..." after taking the wet rag off her face, she wiped away drool with her hand. Looking around her room, she saw a couple of things moved and her trash bin rid of her tissues. Who would have done this for her?
Pretty soon the smell of soup wafted into her nose. Her parents certainly weren't capable of making something that smelt this good. Now her short limbs were dangling over the side of her bed as she got ready to stand. The smell that was invading her nostrils was too good for her to just sit still in her bed.
As her feet helped her stand, the door to her bedroom opened, "You have great timing, your soup just finished."
"Oh! Wei Liu!" the happiness that took over her features caused red to attach itself to his cheeks. "What did you make?" despite her looking sick and having hair sticking all over, she was still the most adorable thing on this planet.
"As I said earlier, soup." a pout found her lips as she pulled herself towards the top of her bed; she was ready for him to place the tray down on top of her. Once her wish was granted, she eagerly started scooping the delicious meal into her mouth.
"Whoa, our Wei Liu is some cook." she was now at the bottom of the bowl and slowly drinking the broth. (F/N) didn't even take a break to breathe (unlike she could).
"I just want you to get better quickly so we can have our second date soon." after he blinked a couple of times, his hand reached over to ruffle her hair.
"Second?"
"I can count this as our first one, right?"
