The first Amy song I ever heard was her cover of Valerie. I was about eight years old, in 2008, in the car with my mum, I was in the front seat and we were coming out of the Waitrose shop in Welwyn. I turned the radio on, and Valerie was just starting. My mum said "That's from the BBC Live Lounge, they get singers to come in and do covers of songs." And I listened to it, and I actually sang along to it. I remember thinking "I don't know who's singing this, but I LOVE her!"
That was actually the first song I ever sang that wasn't a hymn from assembly at school. When the song was over they said "That was Valerie, sung by Amy Winehouse" and her name stuck in my mind. I've loved her with my whole heart since then, she was the first favourite singer I ever had. That's ten years I've loved her for. 😍😍😍 I love you Amy.
