Shaky breaths escaped from her parted lips. He leaned over her, crying, begging her to look at him. Her eyes stared off into nowhere, she did not see him. She did not know what exactly she was seeing.

She was swimming in rich molasses, it coated every part of her body. She glided through it like a bird in flight, passing by her deceased grandmother, teacher, and best friend. Their faces were bright, yet expressionless. Where was she? She did not know of a place that existed such as this.

Unknown objects swirled around and flew past her, brushing against her skin, tickling her insides. She floated aimlessly in the world, reaching out to grasp a colored light when she felt like it.

She looked around and saw the world before her. She drifted above it all, admired its beauty. I can see my house from here, she thought to herself playfully.

A wind tossed her around and she tumbled through the fields of stars; the fields of her friends, until she was placed into a pocket and eternally wrapped in a nice, cozy blanket.

The boy let his tears shoot down onto her beautiful frozen face like rockets. He shut his eyes, closed hers for her, and cried himself to sleep.
