The next day, Tim, Jenika, Adam and Chris had to go in front of the judge over the guardianship of Adam. Tim was way beyond nervous but Chris and Jenika kept assuring him that everything would be fine.

At the end of the court session, the full legal guardianship of Adam was awarded to Tim and Jenika.

They went out to eat to celebrate. After their small celebration, Chris took Adam with him to spend the day at the arcade before leaving for California the next day.

Since his plans of going to Texas were cancelled, he decided to go to California earlier than he had planned. He needed to find a place to live and to get settled in.

It was also agreed that Adam would spend the night with his older brother and Chris would bring him home before leaving the next morning.

Tim and Jenika head back over to Kirstie's so they can start making plans for the vacation.

"Well?" Kirstie asks after answering the door. The excitement was evident in her voice.

"He's all our's." Tim answers with a huge smile.

Kirstie squeals as she grabs them both into a tight hug.

"I am so happy for you guys." She grins.

"Congratulations." Kevin smiles as he shook Tim's hand and kisses Jenika on the cheek.

Patch walks into the room carrying a very rowdy Emily. The first person he comes to is Jenika and quickly hands the squirming child to her.

Jenika giggles as she takes the hyper child.

"I need a break." Patch says with an exhausted smile.

"She's been that way all morning." Kirstie laughs. "She's starting to crawl now."

"It won't be long until she'll be getting into everything." Jenika smiles as Emily throws her little arms around her neck in a hug. "Aww, I love you too, Sweetie."

Tim watches the two with an indescribable look on his face. Almost a sad look.

"Tim? Are you alright?" Kirstie asks when she notices his unhappy look.

"Huh? Oh yea, I'm fine." Tim says, his mind racing to think of something to say. "I was, uh, I was just thinking how much she looks like her daddy."

"Well, Kirstie, you ready to start making plans for this vacation." Jenika smiles as she hands Emily over to Tim.

"More than ready." Kirstie giggles as she grabs her laptop and they head to the kitchen.

"I was just fixing to watch the game. You guys wanna join me?" Kevin asks.

"Who's playing?" Tim asks as he sits down on the couch with Em.

"NY Mets and the Atlanta Braves." Kevin says as he picks up the remote.

"What kind of game?" Patch asks sitting down on the couch.

"Baseball." Tim answers as he tries to get the little wiggle worm, Emily, to sit down.

"Is that the one where they throw the ball to each other and they run with it?" Patch asks.

"No, that's football." Kevin answers with a smile.

"In baseball, you have two teams, just like football. The ball is a lot smaller and round. The pitcher of one team throws the ball to a guy of the other team and he tries to hit it with a bat." Tim tries to explain.

"A bat? Isn't that one of those animals that we saw at the zoo?" Patch asks with a puzzled look on his face.

"Well, yeah. But" Tim chuckles. "A bat is also a long stick of wood."

"Hmmm, interesting but confusing." Patch says turning his attention back to the television.

"It will make sense once you start watching." Kevin laughs.

"Refreshments are served." Jenika says as she brings in a tray with two ice teas and a beer along with chips and dip. She takes Emily from Tim and puts her in the playpen with some toys.

"So when should we schedule this vacation?" Jenika asks as she hands out the drinks.

"Any time after tomorrow is fine. Adam won't be back until then." Tim says looking up at her.

"And the sooner the better." Kevin chuckles.

"Alright, we'll see what we can come up with." She smiles and leans over giving Tim a quick kiss then heads back to the kitchen.

"We need to rent an RV too." Kevin says as he takes a sip of tea.

"Actually, I think I'm going to just buy one." Tim says. "Cause we all love to travel and it will come in handy."

Tim feels a pat on his leg to get his attention.

"So is he out of the game?" Patch asks.

"Who?" Tim asks forgetting all about the ballgame.

"That man that just hit the ball with that stick. The other guy caught the ball in that big brown hand." Patch says, looking from Tim to the television.

"The big brown hand is called a glove." Tim chuckles at Patch's innocence. "And that's called an out."

"So he can't play no more?" Patch asks.

"When his time comes around to bat again he can." Tim says, finding it extremely hard to explain something that he sees as simple as baseball.

"These sports are too confusing." Patch smiles. "The only one I halfway understand what's going on is Nascar."

"I love Nascar." Tim smiles.

"I think I'm going to see what the girls are doing." Patch says as he gets up from the couch and goes to the kitchen.

Kevin waits until Patch is out of hearing range before he turns his attention to Tim.

"Can I asks you something?" Kevin says.

"Sure." Tim answers.

"With all due respect, what's going on between you and Kirstie?" Kevin asks with a concerned look on his face.

"What are you talking about?" Tim asks. "Nothing is going on."

"Well, I couldn't help but notice that you smiled and winked at her yesterday when she was talking about the beach being romantic." Kevin says.

"Oh, No, No. It's not what you think." Tim chuckles as he glances around at the kitchen door to make sure the coast is clear.

"It just seemed a little flirty to me, I'm sorry." Kevin says with a shrug.

"Kevin, I have an engagement ring burning a hole in my pocket." Tim laughs. "I wanted it to be special when I ask Jenika to marry me but I didn't have a clue what to do. Kirstie was just throwing me a hint to asks her while we are at the beach."

"Oh, Lord. I feel so stupid." Kevin laughs shaking his head.
