"Where is he?" Luke asked as soon as we reached the hospital.
I had been rushed to the hospital along with Luke, Harry, Niall, Louis, and Liam. After Cal had been injured in some sort of accident, the others had already left for the hospital while Niall, Louis, and Liam were looking for us.
"Ashton texted saying he's on the second floor," Niall said.
"Ohmygod! It's One Direction! Minus Zayn!" a girl yelled, and we quickly piled in the elevator before more people could get to us.
"Good news is, if you guys get injured in a mob you're already at a hospital." I stated as I stood inbetween Luke and Harry in the lift.
Luke looked nervous, like super nervous. But, I guess that's to be expected. I mean, if my best friend was in the hospital, and I didn't know how serious it was, I'd be super nervous too.
"He's going to be okay," I told Luke, putting my hand on his shoulder.
"I hope you're right, Julie," Luke said.
"I'm always right," I cracked a small smile.
"Eh, not always," he said, smirking, and the doors opened when we reached the second floor, all of up piling out of the lift to see Zayn waiting in the hall in one of the white plastic chairs.
"Where's Cal?" Luke asked the older boy.
"He's in there," Zayn said, pointing to the room behind him.
"Jules, you and Luke go in. We'll wait out here." Harry said, and I nodded, trailing after Luke into the hospital room to see Ashton and Michael sitting in chairs, laughing at whatever Calum had just said.
"Hey," I said, Luke running toward Cal and hugging him.
"You scared me you bastard." Luke said, laughing.
"I'm sorry," Cal said. "It's Ashton's fault,"
"My fault?" Ashton said, the shrugged. "Yeah, you're probably right."
"What happened?" I asked.
"We were just messing around, like we normally do." Michael explained. "And we found some skateboards in one of the prop closets, so we decided to race."
"I was in the lead," Cal continued on. "I just didn't see the staircase."
"So he broke his leg," Ashton finished.
"So how is this your fault?" I asked Ashton then.
"I suggested the race," Ashton said, nodding.

"This sucks ass," Calum groaned as he leaned back in his chair in the dressing room, where the two of us sat.
"Just think, they'll be able to hold this over you." I said. "That they've performed in Mansfield, Massachusetts and you haven't."
"Julie, nobody asked you." Cal said.
"Oh well," I shrugged.
With his leg, he was in a walking cast, since it wasn't badly broken, but they didn't want him performing tonight. So, the two of us sat in their dressing room and watched their performance on the TV hanging on the wall.
"So, what were you and Luke doing while we were racing on the skateboards?" Cal asked.
"Nothing," I said simply, not wanting to give away the fact that I was about to sing.
"Well, we had just found the skateboards when Luke got a text. He didn't say anything, just turned and bolted away. And when you two came in the hospital together, I just figured that you two had been together the whole time." he said.
"Well, yeah, we were together when you guys were racing." I confirmed.
"You know, if I didn't know better, I'd say those fangirls were right. I'd say you two actually were dating." he said, looking at me creepily.
"But you do know better," I stated.
"Yeah, I do," he said. "And I know you guys are just really good friends. But you do seem closer to him than any of us. Why is that?"
Because he's heard me sing.
Not that I could tell Calum that.
"I don't know," I lied, shrugging. "I guess I just get along with him easier."
"Or you just really do fancy him." Cal said, and my eyes widened as I looked at him with a puzzled expression on my face.
"I think your pain medication's getting to you." is all I said to him.
"Call me crazy, but I'd say it's true." Cal said.
"It's not," I said. "And you know it,"
"Yeah, I know," he said. "I'm just giving you a hard time."
"Asshole," I muttered.
"Whoa, language," he said.
"Are you kidding me?" I asked. "You're telling me to watch my language?"
He shrugged. "Pretty much,"
****
"Cal, we missed you!" Luke said as they got into the dressing room and he threw his arms around the injured boy. "Performing just isn't the same without you."
"Thanks," he said. "I missed you too."
"But hey," Michael said. "We've played in Mansfield and you haven't."
"I told you," I pointed out to Cal as Luke took a seat next to me, throwing an arm around my shoulders playfully.
I quickly glanced over at Ashton to see him wriggling his eyebrows at me suggestively, then looked over at Cal, who was smirking.
God, Ashton was right. I've completely fallen for Luke.
