Fact: Karaoke was invented in Japan.

FALSE.

Truth: The first Karaoke sing along machine was actually invented by Roberto Del Rosario, a Filipino, in 1971.

However, the first CREDITED karaoke was created by Diasuke Inoue, a Japanese man. Which is why Japan is more famous for Karaoke.

Del Rosario actually won a lawsuit against Inoue in WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) about Karaoke.

I'm both Filipino and Japanese (I'm only 0.000000001% Japanese though, so it's not a lot, but hey still. Plus I'm only 50% Filipino. The other half is American) so I'm on both sides.

My Answer: I honestly believe the Filipino did. While I believe the Japanese invented the first CREDITED karaoke.
