chapter 1

'Ashton's POV'

we got into my car and drove away before anyone could see us. I felt eyes burning into my soul and turned around. Luke. he was staring at me.

"sorry." he said softly.

"oh no it's fine." I wanted to ask him then and there if he was gay. but I don't know him that well yet so I don't think he wants to come out.

we sat in silence until Luke turned on the radio. Sugar, We're Going Down by Fall Out Boy started to play. we stared at each other for a moment. then we started screaming out the lyrics.

we finally got to my house and settled down on the couch. I wasn't exactly sure what to do... I thought Luke was a classic popular kid. like the ones in the movies. he would bully one kid to seem cooler. the one that hated the nerdy kids. but he was different. he was a very nice boy.

Luke made me feel like I've never felt before. ever since I came out, no one really made me happy. Luke gives me a sense of safety. like no one can hurt me when I'm by his side. but then I remember, Luke isn't gay. he is just a very polite, cute, popular, straight boy. and even if Luke was gay, I wouldn't have a chance with him. he's too perfect for someone like me. I snapped out of my trance as Luke spoke.

"ashton?" he asked quietly.

"yes luke?"

"if you don't mind, can we hang out this weekend?" he asked a little louder.

I basically screeched out, "yes!"

he smiled and laughed. i couldn't stop blushing and I giggled quietly.
