They wait all year
for one night
when they can walk without fear
no-one sees their plight
The headless ones
the disembowelled
the ugly but fun
tonight they're allowed
Ghosts float around with glee
parents greet them with laughter
they don't find them eerie
there's nobody climbing the rafters
Your hand becomes loose
nobody points and faints
they just think its a clever ruse
afraid of you they ain't
Oh the marvellous joy
being accepted and free
mixing with the girls and boys
no-one screams not even the banshee
