Large, unblinking eyes.

She looked scared,

Frail yet somehow she was strong.

Her tired body looking so small against

The white sheets of the hospital bed.

All that was left of her hair was small orange tufts

Cold and lifeless.

My eyes glistened

The nurses came and went

The bed was removed

Another put in its place

Guests come and go

I barely notice,
