Ene, at the age of 10 witnesses the merciless slaughter of her mother at the mercies of cannibals who also murdered her father in defense of his wife. Ene was captured and was thus subjected to a harsh lifestyle as a hustler. Things happened, and she was let go because she constituted an extra burden for the aged cannibals. She was abandoned at the gate of an orphanage where she was found and she lived there for the next five years, attended school, and was later adopted. All these years, Ene had often had flashbacks and fresh memories of how her parents were slaughtered and the harsh life she had been exposed to, and she found it hard to concentrate and relate well with other kids.

Sister Celestina had always advised her to get involved in various activities in order to keep her mind busy and away from all those thoughts. This advice yielded positive results in Ene's life but obviously not 100%. She made it through secondary school, college, and even masters. Ene became a humanist and worked for the humanism center in her town. She was chosen to go for a training program which was more or less practical in one remote area where coincidentally, the cannibals who murdered her parents lived; at the border of the area.

Ene and the team made it safely to the village and were accommodated by the high priest. After settling down, the team decided to survey the area and the following event made it clear that they had exceeded their boundaries. Two naked women tied to two trees and one tied to a plank placed above a burn-fire; beheaded. Ene let out a screech, and they were sighted. The other members made a run for it but Ene fainting distracted the cannibals from chasing the rest. Ene woke up the next morning in a strange room to the gleaming eyes of a being who sat on the bed she was lying on. He asked about her health and what she wanted for breakfast. Musa explained to her that this was a clan of 6 elders who started off as rebels against colonialism. They were strong-willed in their opposition, murdered all the colonialists that came to their region, and thus their newfound hobby was formed. Musa was British and his life was spared because of his age when the cannibals killed his father and he had been serving the cannibals ever since. The elders had settled close to
