I DO NOT OWN TVD ONLY ANNABELLA
I live in Mystical Falls now. After everything.
It's a town in Virgina. Everyone knows each other and no one outside of the town seems to know it very well. When everyone knows each other, and had since they were small, it can be hard for an outsider to fit in.
But here I was, spending more and more time with a group of supernatural teenagers. Right now, I felt like part of the click. Hearing all of the juicy gossip at The Salvatore Boarding House. It's just a really big house, it sounds way more thrilling than it is. I had been sat there for a half hour, surrounded by the 'Save Stefan Squad'.
I, however, have never met this Stefan. He'd skipped town a few days before I'd even met this group of thrill-seekers. All I know is that he's Damon's brother, which gives me little to no confidence in the guy.
It was all a bit weird and confusing. Damon was a vampire. Caroline was a vampire. Bonnie was a witch. Alaric was a history teacher? Tyler was a godamn werewolf. Matt and Jeremy were normal. And Elena was... a twin or something? I don't know. And of course, there was the other Salvatore, Stefan; the vampire I was yet to meet. Elena said I'd like him when I met him but it'd been nearly three months since he had left and being around the most dangerous immortal being in the world could probably waver some morals. That's where he was, by the way, travelling with The Big Bad. Someone that had caused no end of trouble and skipped town.
"As much as it pains me to say it; I could take Caroline?" Damon shrugged. He was going to fetch Stefan himself. Everyone had nodded along as if to say 'Good luck prying your baby brother from clutches of the most powerful being alive, I suppose.' and tried to come up with a more logical plan.
"Not happening. I don't trust you to watch her back." Elena snapped.
"You think that little of me?" He gave a look that answered his own question.
I hum in agreement, which catches his attention. I was also not down to send Caroline off with someone who didn't care if she lived or not. Even if Damon was my friend, I had to admit, there was no love lost between Caroline and Damon. Those icy eyes shoot to me and his handsome face breaks into a look of amusement. I have a lot of these kinds of interactions him, he can take a joke, which I like.
"If you're so concerned, why don't you come road trip with me?" He smirked and moved to put his arm around me.
"Can't imagine I'd be much help. And also I don't want to." I removed said arm from me, slowly.
Some guys just get their eye pulled by the newest thing in the room and recently that happened to be me. Besides, Damon definitely had a thing with Elena. That thing being he was in love with her and she was dating his brother. It made me cautious of Damon, to a degree. We were fast becoming good friends, the hours of drunken conversation I'd had with Damon over the past couple of months had saved my sad little soul so much. But in the back of my skeptical mind, I knew that Elena Gilbert was in the back of his.
"Take Andy," Bonnie suggested with a pointed tone. "She'll be down for a road trip, or anything else you tell her to be down for."
"Hm, why not."
-
That ended as badly as it could have. Damon came home alone. No Andy. No Stefan. Pissed off. Yet again, they were discussing new tactics as to how to get the younger Salvatore out of this hybrid's death grip. Most were plotting, but Caroline was busy planning this Senior Prank night and trying to convince me to attend. As a born and bred Brit, I was always very cynical of the U.S. educational system but I enjoyed their lack of uniform.
"You're coming right?" She pestered.
"I'm not a high schooler so I won't be TP-ing the bleachers, but I'll hang around and come for drinks afterwards." I smiled slightly and she beamed back. My attention was dragged to soft sniffles in the corner.
Elena was in tears. I hadn't known the group for very long, but damn did Elena cry a lot. I liked her well enough, she was kind and friendly to me. But she cried a lot. And I'm not really the sensitive type. It felt like everyone dropped everything when Elena cried. A strange thing to witness for sure, but not really my business.
Caroline paused, seeming to access how appropriate her incoming words were.
"Hey... At least we'll have fun tomorrow!" She chirps.
Bonnie shuffles and sits forward on the couch, from her place next to Elena and across from myself and Caroline.
"Everything is going to be alright, Elena." Bonnie says, calmly. She cracks a small smile.
I tend to keep my distance from their moments, I don't want to intrude, they're obviously very close. Caroline had welcomed me completely to the fold, while Elena and Bonnie seemed to have their own little best friend thing going. I got the sense that Caroline felt a bit left behind in that sometimes, and I could understand it.
Elena was in love with the man that they were spending all these evenings looking for, that was for sure. Of course, it was somewhat endearing that she was trying to bring him home, even though he'd chosen to do this. Not fully chosen. But for the sake of his brother and Elena. I'm still foggy on a lot of details and I hear much of it from Damon's perspective after four glasses of single barrel. Of course, all of his retellings having a very Damon twist on them.
"Not a girl's girl?" Damon asked me. It had been the first time he spoke to me since returning and he'd be
"Just don't want to intrude."
"Well, you can intrude on me and Ric at the Grill. You'll need a drink before you have to boobytrap a bunch of classrooms later." He chuckled.
Well, prank night should be interesting I guess.
