Okay so this is something that definitely bugged me about the movie, and very much bugs me about 90% of the mphfpc fanfictions that are based around the books! No this is not about proper grammar, it's about the exact opposite thing actually

In the books it was stated very clearly that all the kids weren't taught how to speak with proper grammar and this was especially seen with Enoch with the way he always used the word 'ain't'. This was with a lot of the children to be quite honest where they couldn't correctly string a sentence together in correct ways.

In the movie all the children used correct grammar and never messed anything up, which bothered me a lot to be honest.

Then you have your characters who have extremely good grammar and are always correcting the others. These characters are Millard and Horace.

You also have your characters that are pretty average in their amount of proper grammar which is mainly Emma and Jacob. Possibly Hugh and Fiona as well.

Let's have an example of a word that annoy me a lot when used in fanfictions

'Hey'

I cannot stand hey. I feel like these children would either use the greetings 'hello' 'hullo' or 'hi'. The only person I'd really see using 'hey' is Jacob.

Anyways, feel free to mess up a sentence or two. Throw in some words that make sense but aren't considered proper English.

If anyone corrects you on it then go ahead and fight them. You have my permission
