Katara's Sacrifice

Chapter 3:waking up and new beginings

Katara woke up the next morning and could feel everything that hurt. Zuko's uncle suddenly said as he saw katara waking up

" Zuko go get me a plant called jeperedy it is yellow and blue with pink spots on the petals."

Zuko sprinted away did what his uncle said . His uncle started preparing a pot of water , he boiled it and put in many different herbs and flowers, she sputtered out as much as she could until it hurt too much " what..are you...making?"

Iroh looked at the poor child and said"I'm making a heeling remedy for you my poor child"Katara just lay there on her stomachs trying to hold back the tears from the agonising pain.

Not even 5 minutes later Zuko arrived back, the uncle first made sure it was the correct flower and then dumped it in the pot and stirred. He put the liquid on a piece of cloth and told Zuko to apply it to the injury every 3 hours,
Zuko nodded his head and said"anything else"

Iroh replied"yes massage it into her skin."

Zuko went and katara could feel him dabbing the liquid where it hurt, the injuries did not hurt as much anymore, Zuko started to massage in the liquid and katara fell asleep to the soothing feeling.

She woke up again later at night and did not yet know who was taking care of her. She asked them and yet they did not answer all she heard was whispering . Zuko knew that if she found out it was him she would freak out and hurt herself even more and so he said I am Yin and this is my uncle Yang.

Katara asked to see their faces and so Zuko thought quickly "Ummmmm....its inapropriate for....ummmmm...outsiders of our colony to ummm....see our face" Zuko handed his uncle a mask, Zuko had a mask that was called the blue spirit and his uncle had a mask that was almost the colour of stone and called the earth spirit.

Katara would have sighed but it hurt to much to sigh. She was suddenly hungry and asked for some food. Zuko suddenly realised that she can't eat herself and his uncle realised it too, Zuko could see by the smirk on his face.

Zuko just answered that they will get something. Zuko started to freak out in the other tent thinking of how he was gonna do this and his uncle just told him" spoon feed her Zuko I promise not to comment."

So zuko went with the same liquid used to dab the injury for it was used to heal the inside too. He got katara into a position that allowed her to sit up and lean against his leg. He wondered how he was gonna do this and then suddenly saw her trying to reach for the spoon, she held back tears and tried to keep a smile, Zuko suddenly picked up the soon and started to slowly feed her.

Once they were done she said thank you and he applied more of the liquid on her cuts. That was another day done.
