Dexter ran as fast as he could back to Raven's dorm holding the famous booking glass in his left hand. He paced his breathing and felt his heart beating out of his chest. As soon as he opened her door and came in, he saw Rosabella, Cedar, Cerise, Melody, and Bunny being cornered into the back part of their room.
"How did this happen?!" Rose exclaimed.
"Looong story." Cerise said. She wondered how her friend and roommate could have possibly ended up like this. Dexter held the enchanted mirror firmly in his grip and saw the Evil Queen and Raven plotting their next move.
"Capture The Evil Queen." The mirror did as so and before the Evil Queen could react, she was sucked back into the mirror leaving Raven defensive and by herself.
"You idiot!" Raven yelled at Dexter, but he knew she didn't really mean it. Melody and Cerise came from behind her and held her down to her bed. Rosabella came forward and sedated Raven with a splash spell.
"I will only last 20 minutes. We better hurry." Cerise ran out of the room but came back a few minutes later with a saw.
"Will this work?" She said. Bunny and Rose nodded. Melody and Cedar escorted Dexter out the room. After a few minutes, they heard screaming and crying, from Raven of course. Soon the door opened and they walked in to see blood and feathers all over the floor. Raven's chest and back were bandaged up and you could see the tear stains on her face. They all surrounded her to make sure it worked but she passed their tests.
"May I speak to Dexter alone." Raven said softly turning her head away from everyone.
They all nodded and left Raven and Dexter alone. Dexter pulled up her chair next to Raven and sat in it, holding her hand
"Raven, I-"
"I can't do this to you anymore Dex." He fell silent.
"What do you mean?" He asked anxiously. She swallowed and let a tear roll down her face.
"I keep putting you and every one I care about at risk, it's not fair." She almost choked as she tried to hold back her tears but failed.
"Are you breaking up with me?!" Dexter said. He had much sadness in his eyes and his heart sunk low in his chest.
"I'm so sorry Dex but this is the only way." She said looking in his tear filled eyes.
"But I love you." He choked out. She couldn't hold back anymore, she let the dam of her eyes break loose.
"I love you and because I love you is why I have to do this." She wished every word she said were a lie but it was a painful truth. Dex let a few tears roll down.
"But I'm your true love." He said trying to make sense of this news.
"I believe you will find another, one who will love you as much as I do and not risk your life as I did. You will grow up, get married, have beautiful children, and grow old together. You will be safe and loved." She said raising one hand to cup his cheek. He held it softly and let a few tear drops hit her bed sheet.
"I want to do that with you, I don't want anyone else." He was sounding more desperate.
"I will always love you, but I need to let you go and live your life." She bent forward and kissed his forehead.
"Please don't do this." He plead.
"Goodbye Dexter." She said. She turned her head back forward and laid down to rest. Dexter wiped his face and got up. He stormed out and slammed the door. Raven wept and cried. When Rosabella came back in she held Raven as she cried onto her shoulder. Rose handed her tissues and patted her back. Daring soon called.
"I will be right back." Rose said to Raven. Raven face planted herself onto her pillow and cried some more.
"Yeah Daring?" Rose replied.
"Ready to go out for dinner?" He said suavely. Rose looked to Raven and sighed.
"I'm gonna need a rain check." She said hoping he wouldn't get mad.
"Why?!"
"Because Raven broke up with Dexter and she is a mess right now." She said trying to not let Raven hear.
"Uh oh." He said realizing how Dexter must feel.
"Yeah I'm gonna have to call you back. Bye love." She ended the call.
Soon Dexter stormed in to Daring and his room while slamming the door.
"Raven broke up with me!" He said. Daring put his phone down.
"I heard." He said calmly. Dexter. Kicked a pile of comic books over and threw a pillow across the room.
"She said it was because she didn't want to see me get hurt, I don't want to see her get hurt! I'm her true love for crying out loud!" He yelled. Daring stood silent.
"A Charming is supposed to do anything for his princess, but Raven doesn't want me to take the risk. How can I be happy without her? She was my everything!" He started to cry. He sat down on his bed holding his head with both hands. Daring sighed and sat down next to him.
"She is just looking out for you. Her life is... complicated. Maybe she just doesn't want yours to be too." He tried giving sound advice.
"We were supposed to live happily ever after together! She is the only one for me." He pulled out a photo of them from a photo booth from an old school dance. A teardrop from his watery eyes fell on the photo in his hand.
"Well what is done is done little bro." He said. Dexter wiped his eyes with his sleeve and got up.
"No. I'm going to get Raven back, I will make her see that we were meant to be. A Charming never gives up on his princess."
