Poetry: Heartbreak

My Friend

She’s the best friend

That anyone could ever have

She just made a mistake

Of breaking my heart

She knew I loved him so

And now she’s with him

I’m angry

Because I feel betrayed

I’m depressed

Because I will never be with him

I cannot stay upset forever though

But I shall be for a very long time

She apologizes a ton

But it just isn’t enough

I am hurt

My heart aches

I do not overreact

For I truly burn inside

I try to put on a smile

And get on with my life

But it doesn’t work

All see through my lies

I try and try

To forgive and forget

But I just want her to know

That I am upset
