those four words

When someone asked me about him, i would never be able

to explain it.

His words, would float through my mind

day, after day, after day.

Taunting me almost.

I could see his bright eyes within the stars I looked out to every night,

hoping, wishing to see him

one last time.

I saw his quirkiness in the gardens, in which

his own words of love had been forever

carved into the trees. The earth.

Just like a singular wave crashing upon the shore,

his laugh would rush through mind.

Distracting, loud and demanding.

Demanding for my attention.

He protected me, made me feel safe.

So why, did he have to leave?

For what it is worth, i wish everything could have ended sweetly.

A young love.

We were torn apart. Our roots ripped from the solid ground we had

grown so familiar upon.

He left me a note.

That letter spoke so much to me about our life together,

love, honesty, hatred, respect, annoyance, arrogance, happiness.

That letter held the sentence that I

wished I could hear, for one last time. I begged the universe, the stars, the galaxies, just to hear him mutter it quietly.

Just one last time.

Those three words.
