The date that started it all.

"No, you didn't," I exclaim blusteringly to Dylan with my jaw practically on the floor .

Dylan seems nostalgic and his mirth is clearly visible. He laughs at my expense before saying, "I thought I was scarred for life. I couldn't even show my face outside."

From the corner of my eye, I can see Tristan roll his eyes at me for the up tenth time. Hostility rolling off him. This has been going on for a while now. Tristan glaring at me while I pretend not to notice.

Let's get things clear here. I am not afraid of him. It's just that I don't  want to ruin this date for Brittany with the guy she's been crushing on for a while. I bet he's perfectly capable of doing that all by himself. When his veneers finally crack and Brittaney is left heart broken, I will be there with ice cream and a dartboard with his face on it. Not just some picture too, but his actual face that I'm gonna rip off if he does not stop glaring at me.

Just then, an elderly woman with receding grey hair and bright red lipstick comes to our table to take our orders.

Brittaney rattles off her order of a salad impetuously before the woman looks at me expectantly.

"I'll have a supreme cheese burger and a chocolate milkshake please." I feel my mouth water just thinking about the chocolate milkshake when I hear Tristan snicker.

I narrow my eyes as I ask "Is something wrong?"

Tristan, realizing that I mean business decides to shut that mouth of his.

"It's just that getting a burger isn't going to do you any good," Tristan claim sardonically.

Just when I thought he decided to shut his mouth .

I can feel my blood racing through my veins. "I can eat whatever the hell I want so I suggest you keep your thoughts to yourself seeing as you rarely have any thoughts whatsoever."

Brittaney places a hand on my shoulder and says placatingly, "Calm down."

That is when I notice that most of the people in the diner are watching the spectacle I am making.

At least someone finds this situation funny because I clearly do not.

Dylan looks at me apologetically as he suggests "So how about we take turns asking each other questions to get to know one another?"

I can feel my anger simmer down as I retort, "Sure, I'll start."

"Do you have any pets?" I ask curiously.

Dylan's mesmerizing eyes light up as he says , "God, I wish I could but my dad is allergic so I often play with Tristan's dog."

"Do you have any siblings?"

This went on for a while until the food arrived. I was actually having a really good time getting to know Dylan. Just when I was about to take a bite out of my juicy burger Tristan mutters, "You probably eat like a cave man too."

I can feel my eye twitch as I take a look at the dim wit and retort, "Like you are one to judge. You look and act like a barbarian."

He does not look like a barbarian. He looks like a freaking Abercrombie and Fitch model, with his clear blue eyes, midnight black hair and impressive jawline, but like I would ever say that to him. If his ego gets any bigger the world might tip over.

"I think he looks great," Brittaney states dreamily.

The barbarian gives me a triumphant smile before I roll my eyes and face my food, wondering when this date will be over.

...................................................................................................................................................................

"I mean did you see how he winked at me before we left?" Brittaney is screeching rambunctiously as she drives me home. Re-telling me what happened on the date as if I wasn't there.

Last time I checked, I had to endure 3 hours of it sitting right beside her.  Hours of my life gone down the drain.

"Did you also see..."

"Brittaney, one more word about the date and I will rip your tongue out and feed it to a dog," I threaten.

"Tristan has a dog."

"Ugh. Tristan has a dog. Big whoop. It's not like he cured cancer." I state exasperatedly.

"Come on. Aren't you glad you went on that date. Dylan seems like a good guy," she tries to reason.

"He is, but I'm not looking for a relationship right now. We agreed to have lunch tomorrow together."

While me and Dylan get along great, I can't say the same thing about me and the shithead Tristan. The only downside to the evening was Brittaney and Tristan's flirting. On the other hand  Dylan was everything a girl could possibly wish for. Handsome, smart, and such a gentlemen. His only con is that he is friends with that demented buffoon.

My eyes slowly fall closed before Brittaney softly asks if I'm tired. "I'm just really tired from all the effort it took me to stop myself from bashing Tristan's head against the wall," I claim apathetically.

"I bet he would still look hot as hell," Brittaney exclaims vigorously.

I practically fly out of the car and into the house for some well-deserved rest as soon as Brittaney stops her car in front of my house.

I barely cast her a glance. My eyes getting more droopy by the second. My bed literally calling my name. I stumble my way up the stairs and flop on to my bed for some well deserved rest.
