the way he took advantage of me
the way he took away all things holy
for his benefit
you'll never understand
how it feels to
wake up one morning and realize you
have been used without consent
you'll never understand
the feeling i have when i take a shower and see my skin
and realize there's unseen bruises within
my aching body
you'll never understand
the happiness i felt when i met
the boy who'd make sure my consent
was his number one priority
you'll never understand
the way i felt when you told me my flaws
brought out your love and caused
you to care so much for me
you'll never understand
how it feels to be loved and unbruised
how it felt to be loved
by you.
