A/N that's Trevor above.
Vincent's pov.
I look at California. She sits on my lap in the circle of us pot heads. She's not what I expected. She smokes she's the most sarcastic person I've ever met. She's smart but hates school. She's a girly girl who hates dresses. She defies logic in so many different ways I expect her to sprout a horse tail and start flying.
Heck when we first talked Tuesday she called me handsome and looked confused herself. She acts like she has no secrets, and maybe she doesn't, but there's something different about her. She holds confidence yet she's shy. She smokes even though she's supposed to be the typical good girl.
I'm determined to find out what she's hidding if it's the last thing I do.
"Baby it's almost one am." I say glancing at my phone. "We should head out, your dad already dislikes me."
She turns back to me and nods. She lightly stands up and walks to the door but waits for me to walk with her.
"Trevor!" She yells in her friends ear making him jump away from her other friend Greg. "You get a ride with Mar okay?" He nods and goes back to his public make out session with the other boy leaving Cali with a look of approval and bewilderment.
She flips her hair over her shoulder exposing the skin of her upper back due to the low dip on the back of her dress.
In the split second I see the skin I think I see a black crow with a green eye, but that's crazy.
Only crow members can get crow tattoos and only descendants of the original crow can have the green eye.
My tattoo that's on my lower back has a red eye. The red eye means non blood related member. But I have a smaller one with a blue eye beside it. The blue eye means leader.
She can't have a green eyed crow. It's impossible.... Unless....

Cali's pov.
I turn around to see Vince intently staring at me giving me an accusing look.
Oh no. I've seen that look before that's the look of an angry mobster.
Okay, let me tell you guys, I've got a secret. No it's not the one I told Vince or one even close to it.
I'm in the crows. Not by choice of course I'm a good kid. I've never killed anybody or anything like that. My dad, William, well he happens to be the great grandson of the man who started the crows. So he married my mom then came clean. I guess she didn't care because she swore the three if us in. When we were fifteen we got the tattoos, even though we're actually not blood related but whatever.
We throw parties every now and then and the higher ups come over. We usually have the seven main leaders but strangely our district leader has never wanted to come. William talks to him every now and then telling him what he has to do. Vince must be a good listener and good leader because William is always wanting to meet him.
He's gonna have a cow when I tell him that Vince is the district leader.
Okay I bet youre wonder what the actual fûçk? Because you're probably like how are there two leaders? Well let's put it like this. My dad is the president, or ruler, and Vince is one if the many mayors. It's like a democracy only.... Not at all. My dad is more like a dictator than anything else, don't get me wrong he's an amazing guy, he just does what he wants when he wants how he wants and why he wants. He doesn't take the mayors into consideration. He has them do what he says and keep all of his civilians in check and he gives him a cut above the rest.
Simple. What is also simple is that you do not go against my dad. That's like signing your suicide note. Vince has been his most loyal mayor, another reason dad really really wants to meet him.
I stand there and look at Vince. "Can we talk?" I ask not waiting for him to say yes or no I walk through the crowd and out the door.
"So when I asked if you had any secrets you lied to me?" He nearly shouts turning me to face him.
"No, babe it's not my secret to tell." I beg him to understand.
He eyes are shrouded in anger. His face set in a hard scowl.
"Explain." He says not letting my desperation affect him.
"My dad, he's William Gerald Christopher Lombardi. He's the great grandson of the original crow. When he married my mom she swore us in. I didn't want any part of it though. I didn't want to get shot over a dispute I wasn't in. So stayed away from it. When they hold the party for the main leaders I don't attend. When I was fifteen though my mom forced me to get the tattoo. Even though I'm not actually related."
"What about your sister?"
"Oh she was ecstatic. She loves the gang. He didn't even get out the word tattoo before she was jumping into the chair."
"So you didn't tell me because...?' His voice trails off waiting for me to finish his sentence. He's obviously not as angry as he was though.
"Because I don't consider myself a part of the gang."
He mulls this over and I wonder if I said that wrong. "Would you be willing to become part of the gang?" I smile because I know exactly tly what he's asking.
"We're not there yet." I say referring to marriage. "I still have more to learn about you. No more secrets." I hold out my hand.
He grabs my hand but only to use it to pull me close to him. He wraps his arms around my torso and places a kiss right on my lips. "No more secrets." He whispers against my lips.
