Gia

Gia didn't know much about him. Only that he was divorced - a marriage that lasted two months. There are fools who think love is real.

What an exhausting wedding ceremony, glad to be retiring into her rooms, Gia plucked off one of her diamond earrings.

The door creaked open, and a foul smell entered the bedroom. She wasn't surprised that he was drunk.

He was pathetic, mourning the loss of his tethers to his previous life. He couldn't seem to be focusing on her, his eyes darting everywhere but on hers.

Gia continued her grooming. She could feel his dark eyes on her back as she stripped down to her undergarments. So? They were already married. There is no shame.

She looked up and found her eyes locked with Evan's blue eyes. His face did not reveal any emotion, a couple of stray brown hairs covered his eyes layered with a sheen of sweat, and only a slight twitch in his eyebrows showed that his mask was falling. With a blank face, she walked passed him and tucked herself in the covers of the bed.
