Time began as Mother Earth was created in the Big Bang. As time passed, multi-celled organisms came to life, and it was not long before they began to take more than the Mother Earth could give. Because of that, Linhaven came into existence.
Linhaven: the underground world of the protectors of the Mother. Home to a council of five families and their disciples. These five families were given the duty to watch over the Mother and to guide her inhabitants towards long, fulfilling lives.
For many a millennium, this system worked well, however; when Homo sapiens evolved and began creating advanced societies, Linhaven fell under attack. There were some Homo sapiens that didn't like being guided towards a better future, and they grew jealous of the Linhaviens and coveted their power over civilization.
As Homo sapiens advanced, so did the Hunters, finding new ways to trap Linhaviens and use the information gained to divert the five families' goals towards a better Earth for all.
