Zoey

Why is he here again?

I blinked a few times, not able to process what was happening. Brady Anderson was standing a few feet in front of me, on a beautiful porch. Anybody as confused as I am?

I shook my head and masked my emotions. I wasn't letting anyone see the real me for a while. Not until I can trust them wholeheartedly.

I cracked my knuckles and moved towards Welsh. Even though the man repulsed me, I still had to do my job. And right now, my training might come in handy, with all these angry faces looking back at us.

"Ah, Mr. Anderson. I have come on Victors request and have decided to take his offer." Welsh said, smiling at everyone around him. I could tell i twas fake though.

"Wonderful." I heard strain in Brady's voice and my brows furrowed. What's so stressing about us being here?

"Follow me." Brady turned and went through two massive double doors and walked down a hallway. Welsh followed him happily, while I followed with more trepidation.

Heck, for all I knew, it could be a trap.

Brady stopped at what could've been the biggest doors I've seen my entire life. He knocked once before opening them and leading us in.

"Victor, you have some guests." I almost laughed at this. He sounded like a trained butler, not a trained killer.

I looked to where he was talking to and almost gasped. A mammoth stood beside a massive desk. He was at least four heads taller than me and looked to built like a rock. His eyes were narrowed and a vibrant shade of green. His eyes could challenge even Brady's with their intensity.

He frowned at me for a moment before breaking into a beautiful smile. "You must me Zoey."

I was took aback. How the heck does he know my name?

"Uh, how do you know my name?" I looked at Welsh to see if he told the guy, who I figured out was Victor. He just shrugged. Damn you Welsh.

I looked back to Victor and froze. All joy in his eyes was gone and they focused in a glare at Welsh. Oh no.

I broke out of my fazed state and stiffly, walked beside Welsh. I cracked my knuckles again and I felt my eyes narrow into slits. He lifted his eyebrows in surprise and shifted his gaze to me.

"I don't mean to be rude, but, lay one finger on this arrogant human being and I will cut off five of yours. Got it?" I swiftly pulled out my favorite blade, the one with the blue gem on the hilt. I flipped it around my hands for a few times before backing up slowly.

"Welsh, get a chain on your tiger, or we might have to put it out." He smirked at me and snapped his fingers at me in a 'come here kitty' way. Boy, you should know who you're messing with before you poke the sleeping dragon.

I pulled out my throwing stars, faster than the eye could see and threw it in-between his snapping fingers. I only grinned when a drop of blood flowed down his index finger.

"Don't play with a growing fire, unless you want to get burnt, or in your case, hurt." I smirked again while his eyes went wide. His face twisted into a funny face and he pursed his lips. I couldn't keep it in any longer. I burst out laughing.
