i received three journals as gifts this year, all with a note saying "may you fill it with beautiful thoughts..." how useless.
they'll probably sit on my desk for years, never to be used. i could never have the courage to write down my thoughts there. seeing them, laid down in those crafty papers. i couldn't take it. my thoughts are too ugly for diaries. too unworthy to be written down on paper with valuable ink. i don't need to see the mess of my mind in a pretty display.
