Chinese Food

Abby and Erin walked into the fire station together. Patty was sitting at a booth, on her laptop. "Where's Holtz", Abby asked her. "Working on something", she replied, not lifting her eyes off the screen. "Holtzy!" Abby yelled as she put down her bag. There was no answer. "Holtzmann!" This time Abby said it louder. "I'll find her", Erin said in a worried tone.

She walked around and looked in every place Jillian could be. She was nowhere to be found. "Holt-..." She turned around to see Holtzmann standing right behind her, holding a plastic bag and sipping a soda.
"Whatcha doin'?"
"Looking for you", Erin responded, flustered.
"Well here I am", Holtzmann said coolly, opening her arms in an ostentatious way, and giving her signature wink.
"Where were you?"
"Downstairs getting Chinese food."
"I guess Patty was so focused on her work that she didn't see you leave."
Erin took Jillian's outstretched hand and led her back to their friends. "Here she is", Erin announced in a monotone voice.
"Yeah, we know", Abby said through a mouth full of food Holtz brought back.
"Are you sure you're not a ghost", Patty asked, swallowing a half-chewed piece of chicken, "I didn't even know you left."
"What can I say, I'm sly and smooth", Holtzmann chuckled.
Erin blushed.
"What?" Holtz elbowed her.
"Nothing", Erin smiled and turned away.

{a few days later}

Erin was bored out of her mind. There hadn't been a call about a ghost in weeks. She was stuck watching Saturday Night Live clips on YouTube with Abby and Patty, or helping Kevin learn about the phone. Holtzmann was working on her weird science projects, as per usual. Erin contemplated going to see what Jillian was doing, she hesitated, but eventually decided that it would be more interesting than what was currently happening. She shuffled to the very back of the room, and trekked though piles of metal scraps and blueprints, to where the blonde was sitting.
"Hey", Holtzmann said as she removed the goggles from her eyes. She leaned against her work table, and Erin couldn't help but stare at her perfectly placed curves, and her pink pursed lips. Erin's heart skipped a beat and a thousand thoughts raced through her mind. She sighed.
"You okay?" Holtzmann asked, cocking her head.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"
"You just seem sad or something."
"No, I'm fine." Erin said.
Not convincing enough for the ever-so-perceptive Jillian Holtzmann.
"No, seriously, you can tell me if something's wrong."
Erin stared lovingly into the sympathetic blue eyes of her friend, then looked down, wondering whether she should tell the gorgeous girl that she liked her.
"It's just..." She trailed off.
"Just what?" Holtzmann moved closer to Erin, genuinely worried about her friend.
Erin closed her eyes and lowered her head. "Nothing." She lost courage.
"No, c'mon, it's not nothing. I can read you like a book. Something's up and I want to help you."
"Fine", Erin said with a sudden burst of confidence. Her heart was beating out of her chest, she swallowed, tapped her foot, but she still couldn't say it.
"Look", Holtzmann said, annoyed,"I've got a lot of work to do." She picked up her wrench. "So if you're not gonna tell me what's up, then please leave me to wor-"
Before she could finish her sentence, Erin moved her lips closer to Jillian's, and placed a kiss on her open mouth. Jillian pulled away and looked at Erin, surprised. "I thought you were straight?"
Erin felt embarrassed, "I-I did too. But then I met you and... Umm I'm gonna just uh go." This was exactly what she was afraid of. God, what was I thinking? I'm such a fucking idiot. She thought. She felt an emptiness in her stomach as her friend stared blankly back at her. She turned to leave, but Holtzmann grabbed her arm. Erin was confused. "Wha-" Jillian walked around her so that their bodies were right in front of each other, held both of her hands,  and pulled Erin into a kiss. Not a long, deep, sensual one, but a short and sweet one. As they separated, Holtz uttered the words, "I thought I'd never get the chance to do that. I didn't know you felt that way." She smiled, and subsequently, so did Erin. "I didn't know you felt that way either."
"What!? I've been flirting with you since the day we met. It was so obvious!"
"I know, but you do that sort of thing with everyone."
"Well, I only meant it with you." Holtz smiled and looked longingly into Erin's eyes.
"I'm glad I did that, then." Erin said sheepishly.
"Me too."

I'm not promising extremely frequent updates, but I'm in love with Kate McKinnon and the Holtzbert ship and I enjoy writing about this, so I'll probably update within limited intervals.
