She was 8 years old there first day in grad 3 when she got called ugly.
They both got moved to the back of class so they would stop getting hit with spit balls. But the school halls wore a battle ground they found themselves out numbed day after day, they'd stay inside for recess because outside was worse, outside they haft to rehires running away or standing still like statues with no sin that they are there.
In grad 5 they taped a sin to the front of her desk saying beware of the dog.
To this day despite a loving husband she still doesn't think she beautiful, because of a birth mark that takes up a little less than half her face. Kids' used to say she looks like a wrong answer that someone tried to erase but couldn't get the job done. And they'll never understand that she razing two kids whose definition of beauty begins with the word mom, because they see her heart before they see her skin because she's only ever been amazing.
