I walk the 3 blocks to the house but on
the way back, stop at starbucks because its great. I order a pumpkin spice latte and head out the door.
When I can see the house, Rachel shouts my name. "Megan!!!! Daddy has a girl friend!!" In my head I think that that could be true, but then remember my dad. He would never date anyone within a year of getting a divorce. "They're inside kissing," she says patting the little doll in her hands.
I drop my books and run to her. "What do you mean?" I shout. Dad got a new girlfriend already? that's impossible!
I run inside and sure enough, there they are. "dad?" I say louder than I need to.
"Megan, its okay," he says in a calm voice. "This is Mrs. Mills." At this point, I have calmed down by a lot.
"Hi" I say happly. When it comes to meeting new people, I am like a happy puppy.
"Hello" she replys "I have heard alot about you Megan"
"how long have you two been together?"
"well," starts dad. "about a month" he finishes.
"A month! wow. How come I didnt know about it?"
"because we needed some time" said mrs. Mills."I didnt tell my kids either.
"kids? where are they?" I say eagerly. "I sent them to the store up the road to get a snack. They should be back-" and just before she finishes the sentance a voice shouts through the door way. "Where back!" Two little kids walk in, one about Rachel's age, and one a little older. Then, two teenage boys walk in, both almost identical twins.
"Hi!!" shouts the little one "Im Tilly!"
I smile "Hi" I say back.
"and im Leo!" says the older one.
"hello" I say again. They both run off to play, and the adults go into the kitchen. I look up and lock eyes with two twins.
