"They never understood when I tried to explain. They'd brush it off, roll their eyes, and exclaim I need to get over him. Well, guess what?

I can't. I can't get over his cheeky smile with the strange dimple, his laugh that sounded just like my grandmother's wind chime.

I can't get over the fact that he used to tell me all of his bad puns he was too afraid to say in front of his cool friends, and I can't forget the memory of our first kiss behind that willow tree in the local park, the way his bushy head of brown curls blew in the breeze.

I gave myself to him.

And the thing is, I don't know if I can give myself to anybody ever again."
