It's the year of school. High school.

And Nate is already waiting for summer.

When he and his friends first entered the room on the first day, they realized that they were going to be miserable. Well, all except for Francis, but he's a nerd, so it didn't count.

The teacher groaned as well. It was Ms. Godfrey, the teacher that seemed to despise Nate as much as he despised her. She thought that this would be the year where things would go her way, and she'd be able to retire.

Well, not this year. She'll need money for aspirin.

As the rest of the students entered, Nate thought that it couldn't have been worse than Ms. Godfrey, so he watched the arrivals. Teddy sat next to Nate, as well as Francis, and looked for familiar faces.

Chad came over to say hi, and Dee Dee dramatically marveled at how happy she was to see everyone. Artur and Jenny walked in, holding hands. (Nate rolls his eyes.) Even Chester, the known bully, was there.

"Chester, my man!" Nate called, holding his hand up for a high five.

He gave Nate a wedgie just because.

Francis blushed as he saw a certain someone.

Teddy loudly pointed out, "Hey Francis, isn't that Sheila?"

Francis punched him in the arm as Nate laughed. Sheila was Francis' girlfriend, and had been since Middle School. Teddy and Nate tried to keep quiet as she walked over.

"Hey, Francis. Er, we're not in the same first class, I just wanted to stop by."

"Oh, h-hey." Francis stuttered. "That's okay, we're in the same advanced classes, right? B-Better than nothing."

Sheila smiled. Surprising Francis, she kissed his forehead. His face turned pink.

"Alrighty. See you then." Sheila said, walking away.

Francis nodded with a lovestruck expression on his face.

"Oooooooooooooh!" Teddy and Nate said, laughing.

Before Francis could respond, he saw another old friend of his. "Hey, Paige." he said, calling her over.

Teddy went quiet when he saw Paige approach. He had a small crush on her in Middle School, and still thought that she was stunning. He just never told her, and Francis wanted to change that.

As Paige came over to the table, she blushed. She tried to hide it on the outside, but she'd become nervous out of nowhere.

She liked Teddy and has for a long time.

Quickly, she said hello to the boys and settled her things on her desk. Teddy watched her, now looking as lovestruck as Francis had a moment ago. Nate and Francis laughed at him.

Teddy blushed and said to Nate, "Okay, your turn. What about you? There's gotta be someone that you like."

Nate could only think of Jenny, the girl he's been chasing since Middle School. But since her charm on him had begun to wear off, he just shrugged.

Despite seeing his least favorite teacher, and having his underwear up his crack, Nate was in a good mood.

Then, it happened.

His nightmare walked in.

"Ms. Godfrey!" Gina said, running over to hug the teacher. Gina was known for her smarts, and being a complete teacher's pet. Ms. Godfrey was her favorite teacher. So of course, Ms. Godfrey was happy to see her, too.

"Gina, it's so good to see you!" she said, hugging back.

"No... NO..." Nate said, refusing to believe his fate. His least favorite teacher and least favorite classmate? In the same room? ALL YEAR?

As Teddy and Francis started laughing, Nate laid his face on the desk.
