This morning when I got up I was surrounded my my children. Jack was at my feet playing on his phone and the twins were snuggled up asleep next to me.

I sighed and rested my hand on my small bump. It was slowly growing and soon Nate would notice it.

I planned to be out of here by the time I started showing. I got dressed and made the kids breakfast. As they ate I scavenged for my money pile that I received from Brad and I's divorce. Only a small sum of it was left after I had bought the house and furniture. That was before I had everything signed to Nate.

I managed to scrounge up about £300 and tucked it away in my purse.

Once the kids were ready we drove to town. "Jack, here's £10. Take your sisters for a sweetie." He nodded. Jack was growing more Brad everyday.

I shook it off and entered the EE shop. I purchased a Samsung and joined the kids. "What's that?" Jack asked me.

"Our way out."

When we arrived home I set up the new phone and typed Ellie's number in. Waiting for her voice after each ring. "Hello?" She answered laughing.

I began to cry, "Ellie"

"Oh my goodness is that you! I've not heard from you in years! What did Nathan do to you!" She cried also.

"I need your help. I don't know what to do! He's hurting my babies and I'm pregnant."

"I'm coming over right now, still live in the same place?"

"Yeah"

"Joe! Ethan and Levi are in their room I'm going out!"

"Ethan? Levi?"

"I'll explain later"

Ellie quickly arrived at the house and I ushered her inside. "I've missed you so fucking much." She said as we hugged tightly.

"Mummy! Lily's head came off!" Brynne screamed. She ran through carrying her barbie doll.

"It's okay we'll glue it on later."

"You can't just glue it on, Mum, she's officially deformed." Brynne stated hands on her hips.

"Be quiet, Brynne."

Ellie just laughed. "Do you remember me?" They just stared politely at her.

"You're my Aunt Ellie" Jack said coming into the living room.

"You've grown so much, Jacky Boy." She pulled him into a hug. "Wait until you meet Levi he's just turned thirteen we adopted him a couple months ago."

"Wow, Ellie. You never got married?" I asked noticing her engagement ring.

"No we decided to postpone." She smiled sadly, I knew something was up.
"Kids can you leave your mum and I do talk about boring things."

"Kay!" The twins laughed and ran to the playroom.

Jack took a seat beside me. "You too, Jack."

"No I'm staying" he shook his head.

"Jack please."

"Fine, God Mum." He stormed out.

"What a boy" Ellie laughed. "So has he hurt you?" I nodded. "Jack?"

"A smack here and there."

"The girls?" She stuttered. I shook my head.

"Do you know how much of a failure I feel like. I failed to protect my children. I stopped them seeing their auntie and uncle. Their Dad."

"Brad doesn't see them."

"He's came over a lot but Nate threatened to kill him if I let him see the kids."

"When does Nathan get home?"

"I don't know, any minute now."

"Call Brad, I'll get Joe and keep the kids in their rooms." I nodded as she walked out an called Joe.

"Hello." Brad's voice filled the line. "Hello?" He repeated getting agitated.
