BLAKE POV

I kept a close eye on Alana throughout lunch. I didn't want her sneaking off again. I had my suspicions that she had went to Mr. Brown's room instead of the bathroom. I didn't just suspect it, I was almost certain of it. The way that I had seen them on Saturday at the restaurant, well, they both looked like they had just crawled out of bed. At two o'clock in the afternoon. I could only imagine what they had been doing, but I knew they hadn't just been "talking" all night. The math teacher had a lot of explaining to do. Especially the way he was all up on her in public. Didn't he worry that someone would catch them? And I had caught them. They should have known something like this was coming. They couldn't keep it a secret forever. I chuckled when I realized I had been missing something obvious for a while now. I should have found it suspicious how Alana always went to Mr. Brown's class for fourth period, and how she had been absent from lunch lately. He also kept her after class in sixth period. I was in her seventh period class too, and on Friday she had been so late that the guidance office had actually had to contact Mr. Brown to find out where she was. Anyone with eyes could see that they had more than just a student-teacher relationship. Either people were just ignoring it, or they didn't care. Alana definitely wasn't a popular person in this school. I knew that if she WAS popular, the whole school would know about her and Mr. Brown. I guess this time not being popular had fallen in her favor. But me catching her at the restaurant with him had been in my favor. Now I could blackmail her into almost anything. I had had a crush on Alana since the ninth grade, but I never told her. And she obviously never noticed it. Now she was too caught up in Mr. Brown to even care. I should have made my move before he even came into the picture. Then things would have been much better.

ALANA POV

When lunch was finally over, I went to my locker and got my books for sixth period. I was on my way to class as fast as possible, but before I could make it I heard footsteps behind me.

"Hey. You didn't wait for me." Blake said, out of breath as he caught up to me.

"I didn't want to wait for you." I shot back. He ignored my remark and walked by my side until I walked into class. Chris was sitting behind his desk, but when he looked up and saw Blake standing dangerously close to my side, his eyes flashed with an emotion I didn't quite recognize coming from him. Fear? Anger? Jealousy? Maybe it had been a combination of all three.

Blake made the mistake of taking a seat next to me when Chris started class, and for the first ten minutes he taught class with his jaw clenched tightly. Finally, near the middle of class Blake leaned over.

"Looks like your little boyfriend is jealous of me." he whispered with a chuckle.

"Blake! Back of the class!" Chris snapped, glaring at him angrily.

"Yes sir." Blake sneered, laughing to himself as he got up and made his way to the back of class. I gave Chris a look that said 'thank you' and he nodded slightly so no one else noticed. I was relieved he had picked up on the fact that Blake was bothering me. I hated Blake. I couldn't believe he was doing what he was doing, but I didn't have the heart to stop him. I couldn't let Chris get into that much trouble. I sighed, feeling Blake's eyes on me throughout the entire class. I was burning with hatred towards him.

As soon as the bell rang I saw Blake get up, but I stayed in my seat, intent on not moving. I knew he wouldn't try anything while Chris was in the room. Chris would beat his ass if he did.

"Alana, come on, what are you waiting for?" Blake said jokingly.

"I don't wanna go right now." I protested.

"Come on Alana, we're gonna be late." Blake complained.

"I can handle that." a voice said from directly behind us. Blake jumped in shock and I just smirked.

"But Mr. Brown-"

"Get to class Blake." he snapped angrily. Blake glared at him before leaving the room, and once he was gone I let out a deep breath.

"Is he bothering you?" Chris asked curiously.

"N-No." I said, and he laughed.

"Alana, I thought I told you to stop lying to me." he said pointedly. I sighed and shook my head, and I felt his hand on my shoulder.

"What are you hiding from me?" he asked, softer than before. I looked up to see him with hurt in his eyes, knowing that I was keeping something from him.

"Nothing." I whispered. He sighed and picked me up, sitting down in my chair and sitting me in his lap.

"Tell me." he said, adjusting me on his lap so that I was facing him. I knew that we hadn't locked the door, and if anyone walked in we would be in big trouble, but right now he was serious.

"Is it about Blake?" he asked after staring into my eyes for a few seconds. I couldn't lie to his face like this, not when his nose was practically touching my nose, and his eyes were practically burning holes into mine. I trembled slightly and he noticed.

"Do you like him?" he asked suddenly. My palm was resting against his chest, so I felt the beating of his heart increase when I didn't answer right away.

"No, I don't like him at all. He gets on my nerves." I whispered. He sighed in relief and I felt his heart slow again. He leaned in and kissed my lips softly, his tongue massaging mine before he broke away slightly.

"Tell me what's going on when you're ready, okay?" he whispered. I nodded and rested my arms around his neck.

"Promise?" he asked.

"I promise." I said firmly. He pecked my lips again and then slid his hands under me, lifting me up and standing me on my feet. I unwound my arms from around his neck and he sighed.

"When can I see you again? Outside of school?" I asked eagerly. He smirked down at me and pulled me into his chest.

"Tonight. You can come over right after school if you want." he said. I smiled at him and he returned the smile, kissing me one last time before he released me.

"Tell me if that kid is giving you any problems." he said. I nodded and then turned to him.

"Just don't let him sit next to me in class anymore." I requested.

"I wasn't planning to." he replied firmly. I nodded and then waved bye to him before I disappeared out the door and headed to seventh period. I wasn't that late, so I didn't need a pass. I could just tell the teacher I had been with Mr. Brown.
